Hey, we just posted about this problem earlier but posts and threads keep disappearing. Normally when a mod deletes a post theres a red box where it used to be or the thread gets locked but these are straight up vanishing. Could a mod help us figure out whats going on? Hopefully its not a database problem!

Given the stellar reputation of all the community moderators on this forum, I think a database problem is far more likely than one of the mods abusing their powers to suppress discussion!

Yeah, I noticed that over in the "Last 90" thread. I quoted a post and when I refreshed it, all the posts had been removed. Is it a possible bug, maybe we should send something to pgi about it.

Look as a DBA myself I will not have you fellows casting aspersions on my fine profession. It's obviously not the database.

Are you really sure? Because that would mean someone is deleting posts that aren't breaking any rules. I'd be really surprised.

I replied to a thread earlier and now my reply is gone, so I too would like to know if there is some problem.

There is no red box if the mods move the thread to another section of the forum and then delete it, then its just poof gone with no sign it ever exsisted.

That would make sense except the posts were on topic and not violating any of the CoC rules. The only moderator seen in the thread didnt post anything about it or PM anyone so its got to be a database bug.

I too had a post disappear in that Last 90 thread, but it's cool, I logged a ticket to support about it, and hopefully the lovely folks at PGI will address the problem soon.

I encourage you all to report bugs such as this, as PGI are committed to ensuring that we have a pleasant forums experience after all!

Nope it's just a MOD using black magic to make the forums look pretty. Soon all posts will have to be approved by a mod then we all will be silenced. That's how they seem to handle negative feedback just shove it under the rug and act like it never happened.

This is a good suggestion, I think I'll do exactly that.

Technically, I think discussing moderator actions is a "no-no", but, surely asking:

Quote

Why are you claiming a position that PGI and IGP would appear to have made untenable, and why are you seeking to quell discussion of this topic?

doesn't break any rules.

Don't post names of known griefers, hackers, suicide botters, and general unwated aspect of the game that we all know about.
Don't post names of people you disagree with when something they say can be cited as part of a point to be made in a post.
Feel free to name them in your quote boxes though, just don't manually type their name ever.
Don't post IRL documents of another member.
And don't post your credentials when they are called out. This one especially; you're not allowed to know what you're saying.
Feel free to ignore the above, and anything else resembling a website rule, if you're a Mod or Dev.
DO NOT DISCUSS THE DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS WE TAKE. JUST TAKE IT AND LIKE IT OR IGNORE IT OR LEAVE.

Guess which of the above is actually part of the terms and conditions?
Guess which you'll get 1984'd for?
(Answers: A-4 and 7, B-all the above)
