I cant find the support forum anymore, so I figure I might as well post this here..

Anyway, this has been going on for weeks now, if not months... and It's really starting to get annoying. Whenever I play any snow map, textures on rocks and building turn this frustrating shade of blueish grey. Since they're all the same color, it's hard to discern distance, or even where there might be a ridge (this is most frustrating on Frozen City, where the crashed ship is grey as well, making it mesh with the background).

Anybody else experienced this, or even better, knows of a way to get rid of it?

I get it all the time. Ive been assuming it was due to my underpowered video card (9500gt)

Edit: I havent found any fix, tho clearing your texture folder might help. i know sometimes ill get it like that and other times the textures will load fine.

Yes, I also experience this about 9 from 10 times I play on Frozen City. It's really annoying and so far nothing has worked (deleting Shaders, fresh install). I hope they'll fix it eventually.

I have been experiencing it as well. I was assuming it had to something to do with my computer and hadn't realized others were experiencing it. It seems to have become more frequent with this latest patch. It hasn't been too big of a deal except for destroying all depth perception. Not being able to time turns correctly can really get a light pilot killed.

Is it only happening on snow maps for you people as well?

Because all other maps load perfectly fine for me

I've been having the same problem, but with the textures on the mechs not getting loaded properly. A restart helped.

I've seen this on both Frozen City and Snow City. It typically happens when I spawn on the North side of the map. If I spawn South side, the textures are fine. It's really annoying because its sometimes hard to maneuver when you aren't sure what that gray blob is in front of you.

Only happens to me on Frozen City. Not sure if it's actually related to textures or to an issue with the rendering.

Deleting the shader cache certainly won't hurt.

I often get it as well, except it flickers rapidly between blob and the correct render, destroying my frame rate.

I've never seen mechs without textures... God, that would be horrible, if they looked the same as these grey things. Combine that with ECM and they'd be invisible!

I think it is a well known bug because it's quite old and many people have it.

There's a poll in the Support section going on about it. You all should participate, so maybe we can move it up the priority list.

I often get this after a major update, clearing the USERS \ SHADERS \ CACHE folder always fixes it for me

Actually, I get it for mechs too, and on all maps.

Only since the last patch though.

I never experienced it before the latest patch. Of course, I did just update my gpu driver to the latest Cat 13.1 version, so I guess it could be an AMD thing. Perhaps not if nVidia people are experiencing it too though.

I'm having both problems too, but never at the same time. The missing/reappearing-textures bug on Frozen City happens during most of my matches on that map and the missing-mech-textures-bug is rare and mostly on Forest Colony.
The Frozen City bug happens since I started playing at the start of the open beta.
Clearing the shader-folder doesn't work for me.
I read another possible workaround in an older thread about this: Try setting Tesselation to "Application controlled" in your driver controls. Didn't work for me, but it's worth a try.
(AMD 6870 btw, 64bit Win7)

Virtually everyone has this problem to a varying degree. For me it occurs on frozen city day approximately 30% of matches, on frozen city night about 5% of matches and I think i have had it on river city once or twice so less than 1% of matches.

Really this is the only game I have ever played were lost textures occur with this frequency. It is not a driver issue, and I do not think it is an issue with the game engine. It appears to be down to bad coding.
