Also I've found that PPCs consistently hit lower than Gausses.

That is, you have a Gauss in a Rt Torso slot and a PPC in a Lt Torso slot, fire them at the same point: the PPC bolt always hits lower than the Gauss impact. And its out of the reticule too.

If you mount two PPCs in the Torso positions mentioned above, then they BOTH hit correctly - right where the reticule is.

This has nothing to do with convergence or shot velocity or such. It seems to be a bug when running a Gauss and a PPC in the same mech.
Doesn't matter where you mount em: arm, torso, whatever. The PPC when sync-fired with the Gauss will hit low and off target out of reticule.

Bug has been there since CB. Reported it several times. No response beyond they are working on it.

You can test this by outfitting the above, sitting dead still, and firing at terrain with no reticule movement (to take out all other effects from the testing). When this bug first appeared in CB I pulled my PPCs out of my Atlas and swapped them for LLs. I'd MUCH rather be running PPCs in concert with my Gauss or AC20.

It is one of those things that their internal folk are supposedly testing, even though we are supposed to be the testers...

Wish they had spent some time testing ECM.

I've been playing with a Gauss/PPC build on my Ilya lately, and have not had this issue.

My 5 PPC phract owns so I don' t know what you talking about OP.

Bear in mind also that there is a minimum range of 90m for PPCs so if you are firing up close, you are not going to get much effect.

Also, ever since the latest patch, I am getting HUGE delay firing my ERPPC... something like 1 to 5 seconds delay. No delay on my other ballistic or laser weapons.

Hmm not much of a delay for me, or maybe im getting used to the delay. THe delay could only mean ur client sending the info to the servers in canada n vice versa. In itself, i think the firing delay is minimum. Go watch some MWO vids on utube. Those guys have no problem, esp those in America n to an extent Europe.

I run a (2) ERPPC, (3) ML and (2) LRM10 Stalker and I snipe with the ERPPCs most of the time and they work just fine to me. That's probably my mech with the most kills right now.

I think the OP's issue is probably due to the netcode. I've experienced the issue with PPC's every so often and have raised the issue to support as well.

I would assume a lot of the weird 'hit' issues will be resolved when the new netcode is implemented.

they did.

but they don't spend nearly as much time playing the game as we do. not even their internal testers

Hmm - I may have to retry this old combo then. I missed it.

With recent buffs, both PPC's should be easier to hit with, given similar firing conditions. :D
