Why is everything so expensive? $25 and up for a hero mech? $14 for a month of premium? $5 each time I want a different paint job? I can live without the premium, but I'd like to buy a mech every once in a while, especially since they come out periodically. With prices like these, I could easily end up spending as much as $100 on mechs alone. The same thing with paintjobs. They're going to come out periodically so I'll have to spend $5 each time I want to change it. For this reason I've been playing for free, hoping for another founders-like deal.
One suggestion I can offer is to have the paints unlocked in a package, priced around $10, and then you have to option to spend CB to change your paint job.
Also you could to have the ability to buy mech bays with cbills after spending around $10.
You could offer these two suggestions in a package, including a mech or two, priced reasonably at around $40-60. That would give a "full game" for those of us who hate subscriptions. I'm sure many who try the game would jump at something like this. I've shown the game to some friends and they find it silly to spend tens of dollars on a video game "item". It's very much a mentality of what you're paying for. I'll spend 50 dollars on a game, But not on video game avatars. I'd like to discuss this so if you think one of my ideas won't work or if you have a better idea, please post to this thread. Hopefully I'm not alone in this.

I agree, hopefully the new permanent paint jobs will help, people want to own something, not just use or rent.
The hero mechs are just a niche right now, not for the masses, because of that price.
Subscriptions have very little effect, there is no massive grind in this game, either higher the benefits or lower the price.
PGI needs to understand they have to play with the prices, less is more.
