I've got an old MX1000 mouse (actually 2 as the battery doesn't last long any more) but here's my average setup.

left click will cycle through all lasers or all ballistic or all Srms or arm weapons
Right click will alpha strike lasers or ballistic or Srms or torso weapons
Scroll Click left will alpha fire lrms
Scroll Click right will cycle fire lrms
Thumb button 1 will toggle heat vision
Thumb button 2 will toggle zoom

Keyboard:
lShift = Next Target
F = Advanced Zoom
E = ECM Toggle
Alt = Alpha Strike

Gotta say love that my scroll wheel can click left, middle & right.

MB1/left click-Grp 1
MB2/right click-Grp 2
MB3-Grp 3
MB4-Grp 4
MB5-Grp 5
MB6-Grp 6

Missile Door flap open/close- J Button
ECM Disrupt/Counter button- G Button

Everything else is default setup.

I have a Razer Naga Mouse (have had it for 2 years) that i bought for City of Heroes. The only weapon grouping i have a problem with is 3, as it feels in a strange place thats not comfortable for my thumb to reach for naturally.

D is turn left right and ecm???? btw do you pilot alot of lrm baots or atlas??

Good catch, ECM state toggle is actually F.
And no, but I do pilot a 3xSRM-6 Centurion with some regularity, and having the missile doors already opened can be the difference between a miss and a dead RVN-3L. And having the ECM toggle near at hand is a must for when my COM-2D or SDR-5D gets taken out for a spin.

oh, my thoughts were way off then.

My Logitech G700 has 13 buttons on it. I just counted. :)

I haven't completely ironed out my setup yet, but so far left/right click is groups 1/2. One of the four thumb buttons is group 3, another one is ECM toggle. MIddle mouse click is zoom, I haven't mapped the push left/right mouse wheel buttons just yet and I still have two thumb buttons I haven't used, one will probably be push to talk for comms and the other will go to a fourth weapon group.

Four of the other buttons are set to adjust various mouse settings like sensitivity, show battery life, and switch between the different button mappings loaded on the mouse itself.

Well, my mouse has 5 buttons and 2 wheel mice. I use 4 of the buttons for the first 4 weapon groups.
I recently bought a G13 gaming keyboard, and I'm still in the process of getting use to it, which means sometimes my left hand jumps back to the regular keyboard when things get intense. :)

why not free up some buttons to the keyboard hand? surly it would be much faster and you wouldn't effect aiming as much. i wish i had a mouse like that just to try it out.

My weapon buttons are the same as yours, left scroll is ECM, right scroll is target lock, G5 is zoom, G4 and 6 are thermal and night vision, G10 is the map, G9 is alpha, and G8 is zoom module.

I have tried a few different mice. Some expensive ones, and the Logitech G300 is my favorite. I picked it up for like $20 on ebay. I can effectivly use 8 buttons without throwing off my aim to much (some buttons are better then others).

The buttons on the G700 are placed very well, using them doesn't effect aiming.

My keyboard is all default, and I use my mouse as the following:
Left Click: Group 1
Right Click: Group 2
Scroll Click: Zoom
Button 3: Group 3
Button 4: Group 4

I dont really use 5 and 6

Yeah, I may do that.... but I just started playing the game so I'm trying different stuff and seeing what works best. I admit with so much stuff going on with the mouse hand it can get a little confusing. But the more I play the faster I get.

I think the main reason I've got so much stuff on the mouse is because right now I'm driving fast light 'mechs so I don't want my keyboard hand to deviate far from 'a' and 'd'. When I get into the heavier 'mechs and maneuvering isn't quite as critical I'll see about shifting more to the keyboard.

Nice, I'll see about mapping some of those too.

i can see its great for night vision/thermal, zoom, alpha, missile doors,chain fire on/off,

i need to have one on hadn to understand.
