I've already dropped my armor a bit to handle the tonnage, but don't want to go lower (Endo+Double Heats).

But ECM negates Artemis even if you TAG them, so you would be better off with the LRM 15+ LRM 5

You need LineOfSight to target for Artemis to work, that's increased missile grouping and tracking ability.
If you can chain fire or alpha those LRM15+5 without overheating then don't take Artemis. If you overheat after a few volleys then drop the LRM5 and take Artermis.

Does anyone know how much Artemis helps with percentage of hits?
Since most mechs sport, AMS, any LRM should be counted as LRM(X-7), due to AMS knocking out 7 missiles per volley. So an LRM15 hits with 8 missiles, while an LRM15+5 hits with 13 missiles. That's an increase of 62.5%.
I'm guessing the Artemis doesn't increase hit percentage by that much, even with LOS.

2 x lrm15
2 x lrm10
or
2 x lrm20 + artemis
only way to know if its any good is on caustic. return with reply soon. i hope
10mins later:
well i didnt get the map (had a good game), artemis at 300> really seems to get that tighter grouping. i didnt get a single kill but i did like 700 damage. im carrying 10 less lrm but iv got like 600 more ammo...... when your hitting enemy at 500-800 meters out i get huge hit readings on CT, if they run they group even tighter.
i guess its kind of worth it if your boating them. it will defintly free up tons, slots for ammo or other weapon etc.

Its use is as situational as the use of LRMs so imho i would go artemis (as you have no ammo expenses).
I like the CN9-A with 3x LRM5 though in that case Artemis would add 3 tons to your weight and i feel that is to much of a drawback but with one LRM15 its very reasonable.
In the end it must fit your playstyle and depends somewhat on the composition of the enemy team.

BTW, size and speed of target makes a large difference in terms of how much effect you'll see from Artemis. Just like with TAG, you'll see a marked improvement versus faster lights and mediums (IE, you can actually land a few missiles out of each salvo on them instead of missing with 99%), but not much of one versus say a Fatlas stomping around at 40kph.

Although I do think Artemis is more useful on larger LRMs. An LRM20 is going to be more affected by spread than an LRM10.
I'd also check the number of tubes - if your LRM20 fires as 4 volleys of 5 (like on the Atlas), then the grouping will be inherently tighter.

Just to put things in context, I built this CN9-AL primarily as a sniper. I was originally going to put in dual ER PPC, at the expense of armor and a smaller engine, but with some advice of other players went with dual Large Lasers. The max 900 meter range is well within most engagement distances, and the heat savings seems to offset the somewhat over kill 1600 meter max on the ER PPC.
I figured LRMs would complement the stand off distances I was going for, hence the LRM15 + 5. Unless I hear the Artemis increases accuracy / hit rate by 60%, I think I'll stick with the extra LRM.
If I replace the engine with an XL, I could free up tonnage for LRM15 + LRM10 + more LRM ammo and more armor. Giving me this CN9-AL
