I had this happen quite alot lately. The mech that I or my teammate are blowing the crap out of disconnects just before it gets killed. While I know that in the recent patch they still get a death counted to their stats great they still get punished. It does still deny the reward to the killer and anyone that assisted in the kill.

In theory I can see that if a mech is just getting pummeled by 8 mechs, and the player has a REALLY crappy computer, the game/computer would have a glitch and force a disconnect. I can forgive that but I cannot forgive the guys who are just getting beat and quit the match to deny the reward to someone else.

I had a match yesterday where I was the only one fireing on a SRM Cat. It took me a good bit of time because I was in a Spider. I managed to avoid getting killed and took off both of his missle pods redering him usless. Next thing I know the Cat comes to a stop and I see the message [redacted] has disconnected. Now my mech is fairly trashed so I am not much use to my team and I still don't get credit or the C-bills for the kill.

I know that there will always be sore losers I can live with that. I don't think I should be punished for their lack of proper upbringing. I had mechs just wrecked but somehow managed to survive, Im talking about just legs and a VERY red center torso and a head, and I cap the base for the win for my team. I have also gotten flat out beaten by other players and although I don't like it but I don't force quit to be a jerk and deny someone the rewards they have earned.

The killing of disconnected mechs should still count on the scoreboard and give the C-bill rewards.

I think it should count as salvage. An abandoned Mech fully intact. Divy the cost to the team. Better yet, if YOUR team had the DC and you win, it should be added to the salvage bonus too!

I believe they already addressed this and are just waiting to add it, But either way. IF it`s not yet addressed;

When a mech Disconnects it should have a span of 2 full minutes in which it`s considered a valid target for killing as if he was in game. This would allow us to still get credit from people who bail before going down in a ball of fire.

I'm sure I will get flamed for this, but I Disconnect - all the time - I see it as "Ejecting". As the game progresses, I hit "Tab" see that everyone else is dead except me, and well, "Eject". Or I fined myself overwhelmed and outnumbered and it's a sure death for me. "Eject". Time to jump on a new game.

I'm fine if you want to count my disconnect as a Kill, get the Salvage. Sounds good to me. Last one to score a hit should get the kill.

There should be a 'grace' period following a DC where killing the Mech still counts for XP and credits. It could be as few as 30 seconds and still in (I would imagine) 99% of cases award the XP those attacking deserve.

You give up in the face of certain defeat and death? I find that sad. Where is the will to overcome and excel? I've won games of 4v1 before. Sometimes the enemy are so battered you can easily get 1 or 2 kills before dieing, if not winning.

I'm sure I will get flamed for this, but I mock players who eject- all the time - I see it as "cowardice".

What I find sad is even considering it defeat when, in the same situation with a broken Atlas, I killed
two other mechs before dying.

Even if you are the last one out, look for the guy going to cap cause he is probably broken bad...

Also, you will not die, it's just a game!

Finally, even if I die, those death animations are just too nice to miss out!

I remember, in Costic, dying on the edge of the Caldera and tumbling down, head over heels
for 3 rolls! Good times!
