Streaks have broken the light fight. This used to be a fun and challenging dog fight, but with streaks working as they do, any ***** can lock and dumb fire any other light mech down, especially the ones that have no streaks of their own. Also with no knockdown anymore, most people pilot lights like idiots with no care as to whether or not they are running right through a mech. In closed beta if you ran into a mech you paid for it with a knockdown that typically got you killed. Light pilots required actual skill to be good. Now the only viable light mech is the Raven. Instead of coming out with more content, fix the content that is out. ECM is easily countered through heatvision and a little situational awareness, but due to the current state of streaks you have pigeon holed us into only being able to use the raven if we want to have any chance of winning. A simple fix to the streak would be to make it work like they did in MW4. You still had to aim and it would lock onto whatever body part it was aimed at once you pulled the trigger. That would be a 100% better than this fire and forget bs that is the current set up. Give me back knockdown and change how streaks work so that the dogfights can come back, otherwise screw playing a light if I only have one choice in being effective.

Streaks are the best way to defeat lag shield. Sorry man but if you are going to run at the speed threshold for the game the only weapon to use v you is streaks. Personally I don't carry them cause I prefer more damaging weapons. but if I keep reading how OP SSRMs are, I might just have to switch to them so I can start having whine with my game.

I have to agree that piloting skills at this point in the game is no more and the sooner that knockdown is back the better, there will be moaning from those that are new to the game that wernt around then when it was taken out but those peeps will soon realize that they are on a new learning curve of how to fight the dog fights we used to have in closed beta and many will fail, as for streaks i dont see a prob

Actually... I have some bad news. After rereading a quote from this command chair post, it sounds like knockdown is gone for good. All they're adding back in is proper collisions, but no knockdown based off this dude's wording...

"Finally we will re-introduce Mech collisions in a hopefully much improved state (for those who saw it in closed beta that means no teleporting snapping or knocked down Mechs and proper damages being dealt for all Mech types)."

Sad face....

That is poorly worded, on their part. It would be helpful to have a clarification from Matt, Paul or Garth.

You're right, a 5x SSRM2 Stalker will ruin a light pilot's day. But maybe that light pilot shouldn't be leg humping that Stalker like we see happening now. Every game I am in, it amazes me how many people collide into each other trying to either circle strafe and run into other mechs (team mates or enemy) or those people who run over each other trying to get a shot in on the enemy. Put collision back in and those people will be all over the place like the three stooges slipping and falling on an oil slick over and over.

Edit: or 6x SSRM2 A1

Com-1D, w 2ML + 2 SSRM2's vs Jenner-F with 6ML,... the commando will win every time.

I'd rather see lag shield / net code fixed then allow knock downs only after you take enough damage to knock you off your feet (yes like MW4). Lights would be affected as well and thats much better than the now defunct ramming knock down and makes more sense.

I want knockdown back in this game. I want to be able to properly perform the Death From Above maneuver such that I can adequately knock over an enemy mech by stomping on their face. This is something that is really cool and it should not be ignored and it was a shame it was removed. Please bring back knockdown.

This is nothing more than opinion at most... I have 18 mechs in my hanger and none of them have ssrms on them. The example would be on my Raven 3L, I have 3 ML and 2 SMR6s... I have only been killed twice with another light mechs SSRMs in a 1 on 1 fight...

I do hope knockdowns will be back in the game because with them I think the thought process will have to change for some folks.

Then you've rarely played your Raven-3L, and have only run across idiots in the opposing lights.

The following is not opinion, it is fact: I can kill any other light, who doesn't run streaks, in any other light that has at least 2 streaks. 100% of the time.
