Long ago I was a disciple of the Dakka and I reveled in it's glory, but then I became lost. I foolishly turned my back on the Dakka. I abandoned my 4x. Left it alone to collect dust. Ignoring it in favor of catapualts. Diverted from the true path by the siren song of the demonic temptress known as SRMS. Bewitched and Befuddled by damage to tonnage and heat ratios. Drunk on the Alphas.
Not long ago I decided to sell my 4x to make more room for mechs with...it pains me to say this...more missile hard points. I clicked on the sell button. As I was about to confirm I heard a voice; hauntingly beautiful and distant, but firm. It said "Wait! Play one last match in it. Has not the 4x served you well? how many battles has it seen you through? You could atleast allow it a warriors death. Let it go down in a blaze of glory." At the time I did not recognize the voice. Did not see it for what it was. I doubted my own sanity even for hearing it. But I knew in my heart the voice was right. The 4x deserved better. The least I could do was give it one last match. So together we dropped for what I believed would be our last time...
AND IT WAS GLORIOUS! How had I forgotten? What a fool I had been! Rounds hurtling down field as we slowly strode forward. Every step almost slipping on our own spent shells. The spilled fluids and shattered componets of our enemies strewn about. What could be better? Nothing. That was when I realized what that voice had been. It was the Dakka. Though this poor wretch had turned his back on it. It had not forgotten or forsaken me. It had been waiting. For it knew I would be back and it welcomed me with open arms!
In this universe there is only one inescapable truth. One indisputible fact. Dakka is good.
Though I walk through the caustic valley in the shadow of LRMS, Gauss and Large lasers I shall not fear. For the Dakka is with me.

I will patiently await the Jagermech as my own personal harbinger of Dakka.

As a AC/2 user in recovery:
I too have had many fine experiences with dakka. During closed beta my dakka delivery Package of choice was a dragon 5n with 3 ac/2s. I was immediately bummered out when I discovered that the chain fire was very dakka prohibitive when introduced. No matter how furiously I clicked I could only fire 2 ac/2s on the chain, the 3rd one was redundant. I then realized how much more dakka I could obtain by firing 1 ac/2 independent of the 2 on chain fire. I was very pleased... To this day I still have people ask me, "how you get that dragon to fire so fast?"... In November I became fully drunk with dakka. The Cataphract 4X gave me one more dakka slot that was too much to handle. I took my dragon principle and set two independent groups on chain fire. I never knew it would be possible to use 800 rounds of AC/2 ammo in a match. I'm sure the poorer and less fortunate citizens of River City became quite wealthy off scrap brass in November 3049.
I have since taken a step back from AC/2s and have been exploring other areas in the rich world of dakka. Like the op I am a huge fan of the quad AC/5 4x especially since the increased projectile speeds. Before..... I recognized the power of 4 AC 5s but the speed of the projectiles made me feel like I was a batting cage baseball launcher pelting some poor kid whose friends locked him in the cage.
I have, as of late, been exploring the world of dual lbx and uac and I feel promising results are ahead. When the Jagermech comes out I will most certainly return to the world of ac/2s. I intend to name all my Jagermechs after 20th century Terran anti-aircraft weapons.
