Whenever I drop into either of the Frozen City maps, night or day, my computer randomly locks up and freezes the screen although game sound can still be heard in the background.

After roughly 5 to 10 seconds of this frozen screen, my screen goes black for about 5 seconds then kicks me back INTO the game and everything in game speeds forward to catch up to current events. While the screen is locked up, my mech continues to walk the direction it was facing when the lock up occured.

This can happen 1 to 4 times in a givin game depending on how long the game lasts. It does not seem to matter how much activity is on the screen to cause the lock up. I've had it freeze 5 seconds into the game and I've gone 2 or 3 minutes into a match before the first freeze occures.

This is the ONLY map in MechWarrior that this happens on. I've tried adjusting the graphics levels to every available level and I've turned off V-Sync and Anti-Aliasing. Still the screen freezes and only on Frozen City. So I tried swapping out the 450W power supply for a 750W, assuming the graphics card wasn't getting enough power, and still the game would freeze only on Frozen City.

Until the last patch that brought in ECM, my computer ran the game flawlessly on all maps with Very High graphics turned on.

NOW with this patch, it doesn't reset, it just crashes to the desk top and MechWarrior stops responding.

Had this issue last patch and I still have it. I've even reinstalled the game today in hopes that it would fix your broken game. No luck. Can we get this fixed or am I and the rest of us with this problem just screwed until you decide to get around to it?

Getting the same. Thought it was a CTD but then the game actually came back after 4-5 seconds. Same map.

Both. It's not every battle though, just sometimes. I don't think I ever had it more than once during the same battle, either. As the OP said, the issue started with the previous patch.

Started last patch, haven't had the map on Conquest Mode so I can't tell you if it happens there or not. But it crashes to desktop in both Night and Day versions of the map. Using and ATI Radeon 7700 graphics card. It's 2 weeks old and all drivers are up to date. When I crash out, it tells me the display drivers had crashed, obviously.

Like I said previously, that map ran fine until the ECM patch. Don't have any issues on any other map but this one.

if i océd my fx card i got the same freeze but my game continued after few seconds.

restore to stock core speed has fixed it for me.

this freeze is because of resetting the fx driver, unknown reason.

ATI HD 5750 here

edit.
i also monitored my fx and no overheat or overflow or somethings if this bug appears

I'm not getting a CTD, just a black screen freeze for a few seconds. No messages about a driver crash, either. Running an NVIDIA GTX 660 with newest drivers.

Not on my system, that part of the issue is probably ATI only.

So can we get an update on the situation? The game is literally unplayable on this map and crashing out to desktop every time it comes up is getting old.

I have the exact same problem as the OP.
Both versions of the map, both game modes. It seems to happen at random, and not when I use a specific game option or view a specific direction. It usually happens at least once per game.

I would add that the black screen is more like a screen restart or something. even the backlight turns off when that happens.
Running AMD 7770 with latest drivers and eyefinity.
