Alright, Im trying to think of some ways to vary the way the game plays. Most of the time (in either conquest or cap) players just cluster and go after the enemy and generally the team that loses is the one that didn't do as good of a job with clustering. Sometimes 8v8 matches can be more dynamic but are often similar. This isn't a bad thing but a little more variety would be nice.
Conquest is an interesting idea, but for the most part players just go after each other rather than spread across the map trying to secure nodes. Dropship mode might change things up, but one idea I had is to add in a mech repair bay (hear me out before rushing to judgement).
Your base would have a repair bay but it wouldn't be powered up at the beginning of the match, on your side of the zone would be two nodes that were generators. You capture these nodes and if you get both of them your base is powered up. You get C-bills every minute that the base is powered (you need to hold both nodes) and you can return to base and if you shut down you will slowly heal your armor and ammo. This might prolong matches (match length should also be increased) and might make fighting more dynamic, players might retreat to repair rather than just suicide charging and their would be some incentive to have all 3 locations protected. It might work better once 12v12 is enabled.
Does anyone think it could work and might be fun, or have any suggestions to fix it, or is this just unworkable?

Interesting type of game will be GUARD A CONVOY, the convoy got a route can be random every time but the same lengh, for example they scan for mineral sources and they need too stop in few places to mesure the surface of planet what is under exacly ,and enemy simlpy need too stop them (destroy) the convoy.
The mechwarrior or any game get more interesting when U don't need to kill everything or not at all to win the game.

It's a pretty good idea as far as immersive game-types go. However, the one problem with it, as mentioned in that other thread, is that it'd be too easy for the attacking team to simply attack the convoy while ignoring the opposing mechs. Unless the convoy is made very difficult to destroy, in which case it'd really just be another Assault Mode with a different flavour to it (ie. convey instead of base caps).

The mech repair bay is an interesting idea, but I think it runs the risk of making unbalanced games even more so since the more dominant team will have control of the mechbay and have a chance to repair their mechs. I think it would result in less come from behind matches which are always enjoyable.
If I was going to make a new game mode I'd suggest an attack/defend objective game. Taking a standard conquest map layout the defending team has "factories/warehouses" spawned at their closest 3 capture points. Rules are simple assaulting team gets bonuses for the number of buildings destroyed, defending team gets bonuses for number of buildings left standing. Also buildings should only be able to be targeted by missiles if it is narc/tagged and additionally I'd set up an AA tower at each point with duel (or triple maybe) AMS to prevent LRM barrages until that tower can be cleared.

I like the protect the convoy game mode.
I would like to arm my mech with a battering ram or giant hammer or something like that. Even be able to pick up the cars lying around or something. So when your weapons get shot out you can pick up something and Fiigghhttt.

Of course need some balance, if u destroy convoy guards U gain nothing if the convoy will go far and make his job, the attack team will loose if convoy reach the last point on his route.
The convoy need to take damage but if there is 3 or 10 vehicles in convoy they will gather info faster if 10 or slow if number is smaller.
Not gone wright the whole adjustment balance is not the purpose of this this is simple idea this need too be tested maybe attackers will spawn in smaller group 8 Vs 4 or different.
Don't expect all details up here.
