If you read the patch notes, it seems you have to press "O" prior to overheating, otherwise use "P"

- if u power down because of heat - press P (prior to that O). U will receive internal damage...
- if u must power down in game - press P
- if u are aware of overheating - press O before shutdown and there will be no shutdown sequence at all but then internal damage...

my mechlab is full of awesomes, right now they're completely and utterly unplayable. last match i shut down for like 15 seconds and i got laser and AC to the body
i had the floating shutdown screen bug before, i deleted my user folder and now i don't get that bug but my mech still doesn't power up after shutting down, not with o not with P. unless at least 10 seconds go by
it doesn't seem to be giving me any options, is this how it's intended to be from now on? maybe ppc users will finally call it quits..

the actual shutting down happens in a split second, less than 1 second... you're supposed to quick time press it? or press it as you fire your PPC? so that you can move out of danger right after? it makes no sense.....

If your running hot, tap it before you fire then let loose. You wont shutdown in the next 5 seconds and you can either keep running hot or let yourself cool down.

"Pressing the "P" key now powers your Mech on/off no matter what state you are in. Hence, if you press the "P" key while you are overheated, your Mech will power up but you will start to take damage to your internals until you have cooled off sufficiently."
This does not work for me.

Surpass that, and you get the usual as it has been heat shutdown.
For me, that window seems to start to open b/w 77% and 84% temperature bar and by 94%, it closes. So, depending how you manage your weapons fire, you may have only a small window of time to trip that switch.
Its touchy.

but as for P powering you up, i can guarantee it doesn't work.
it works 50% of the time and IF it does it gives you the shutdown screen bug, you're operational but still seeing flashing red screen instead of HUD

Half the time when I overheat, I have to power up, and power down to get a hud.
Other times, I can press P and O as fast as I can, and all I do is get pissed and die.

Override is working fine. I greatly enjoy the ability to get the killshot on a target that otherwise would have shut me down. Light damage to the internals has been worth it so far. Furthermore the internal damage from heat mechanic isn't new, all PPC boaters should have experienced it at one point or another, maybe even with a heat-death when we cook our cockpits. xD
