what's up with this patch? my mech shuts down and i can't override it... it used to happen when the heat was just too much, now i'm forced to stay in place and just pray that it starts up again.

whY!??

isn't enough that the awesome has heating problems and now no override?????

this is becoming unplayable very quickly!

If you read the patch notes, it seems you have to press "O" prior to overheating, otherwise use "P"

I wonder why the change... one key for all was working perfectly.

It has only advantages (if there's no bug and works like mentioned in patch notes):
  • if u power down because of heat - press P (prior to that O). U will receive internal damage...
  • if u must power down in game - press P
  • if u are aware of overheating - press O before shutdown and there will be no shutdown sequence at all but then internal damage...
Conclussion: two keys are necessary

doesn't work. doesn't allow me to take internal damage

my mechlab is full of awesomes, right now they're completely and utterly unplayable. last match i shut down for like 15 seconds and i got laser and AC to the body

i had the floating shutdown screen bug before, i deleted my user folder and now i don't get that bug but my mech still doesn't power up after shutting down, not with o not with P. unless at least 10 seconds go by

it doesn't seem to be giving me any options, is this how it's intended to be from now on? maybe ppc users will finally call it quits..

It does not work as descriped in the patch notes. On 2 times, i powered down my mech instead of override shutdown.

and what is even O supposed to do anymore?

the actual shutting down happens in a split second, less than 1 second... you're supposed to quick time press it? or press it as you fire your PPC? so that you can move out of danger right after? it makes no sense.....

Yeah the whole shutdown/overheat change is completely broken and is frustrating me so bad in battle I am throwing in the towel on this game until next patch or until they fix this. Absolutely has ruined battle for me.

You hit "O"verride _BEFORE_ you shutdown.. Seems to work fine here. Just make sure you haven't re-mapped it. ;)

If your running hot, tap it before you fire then let loose. You wont shutdown in the next 5 seconds and you can either keep running hot or let yourself cool down.

"Pressing the "P" key now powers your Mech on/off no matter what state you are in. Hence, if you press the "P" key while you are overheated, your Mech will power up but you will start to take damage to your internals until you have cooled off sufficiently."

This does not work for me.

I haven't tested it in the already shutdown mode, will give it a try next match. Running a light HS cat atm, so don't overheat too much unless I try.

To me, there is a certain window of time to make the override work, and also the power down / power up option.

Surpass that, and you get the usual as it has been heat shutdown.

For me, that window seems to start to open b/w 77% and 84% temperature bar and by 94%, it closes. So, depending how you manage your weapons fire, you may have only a small window of time to trip that switch.

Its touchy.

Just tried the new override and power down system . And I have the bug where you are powered up but whole screen shows u still powered down. Have to manually shut down and power up again to clear......meanwhile ....you'll die.

"O" and "P" doesn't seem to be working as intended. Took a hot mech for the purpose of testing this. "O" doesn't stop the shut down and "P" doesn't power it up, however, "P" does seem to work if you have the Override elite unlocked. Weird.

Ok. Let's say it all works as intended perfectly as the new patch instructions state. It completely sucks in the heat of battle to remember this convoluted new override setup. Absolutely hate it. There, I feel better now.

the O key does prevent shutdown for the next 5 seconds...
but as for P powering you up, i can guarantee it doesn't work.
it works 50% of the time and IF it does it gives you the shutdown screen bug, you're operational but still seeing flashing red screen instead of HUD

This is not working as intended at all.

Half the time when I overheat, I have to power up, and power down to get a hud.

Other times, I can press P and O as fast as I can, and all I do is get pissed and die.

If you spam P, you won't reliably powerup. You're basically flicking the "on" switch back and forth. It's probably not the ideal way for it to work, but that's how it is for now. Press it once and wait and you'll come online. Mostly it has to do with the startup animation becoming less clear that anything is happening until the HUD initializes, which is like 2 seconds into the process.

Override is working fine. I greatly enjoy the ability to get the killshot on a target that otherwise would have shut me down. Light damage to the internals has been worth it so far. Furthermore the internal damage from heat mechanic isn't new, all PPC boaters should have experienced it at one point or another, maybe even with a heat-death when we cook our cockpits. xD
