Hey, has anyone else noticed this?

Whenever I overheat now, I will always lose my hud/get temporary yellow screen unless I startup/shutdown again. Least to say, its gotten me killed more than a fair share of times.

I've had that happen. Oddly you can keep fighting with the red Shutdown still up, but you won't get the HUD stuff until you power down and back up again. It has adversely affected my play as well, but luckily it doesn't happen every time.

Before there was pretty much no way to fix it... so I certainly wouldn't say it's "worse than ever".

Meh, used to be worse. I prefer adding it back in if it means a good patch like this one.

Happened today a lot, to a friend of mine. Me, I did shutdown sometimes but I've been fine. So I take it's a matter of luck :(

I had it happen alot last night and it happened everytime I would overheat and manually power back up before it auto powered back up. Has anyone else noticed that or care to try it the next time you overheat?

I also experienced this primarily when powering up manually after I've overheated.

Same. It takes 10-20 seconds to recover from an overheat now.
That sucks. That is enough time to die every time.
Hotfix this 5 minutes from now please.

This happended to me also but I found it only happens when I manually try to start it up again instead of letting the shutdown run it's course. Try it out and let me know if it is the same for you.

hey there, it seems like when i overheat, if i try and override it takes forever to come back up, not like it used to. also, if i DO override, my HUD does not come back properly, i get to stare at the overheat shutdown screen till i power down and back up again. which as we all know just isn't going to happen in combat. it also causes me to have the "surfing" mech effect, where enemy units don't animate. between the two its neigh impossible to shoot strait. not having a cross hair and the enemy unit being hard to judge makes it awful. hopefully this gets fixed quickly!

I know that other people have reported this as well. Normally, I miss out on most of the bugs. However, while playing last night on Frozen City - Night, my AS7-D overheated. I tried to override and noticed that the overheat screen did not go away. Shortly after, I started moving and ran into several people as I was under fire. I don't know if they were friendly or not because I died shortly there after.

It's an old bug that got either patched in again or has just become more frequently with the new patch...

Just posting this here as well:

Currently, there is a minor bug within the power-up system. If you try to power-up ("P") when the shut down animation is still playing, your input is not queued up. (It ignores your input) There should be a fix for this next patch. Thanks.

Outstanding. Thanks for the update! Really was beginning to frustrate me.

Rock'n job PGI.... no really... O did nothing to prevent shutdown (yes was pressed within 5 secs before shutdown 3 different times). Conversely P did power up my mech. On the first an third tries it powered up the mech an left me with the shutdown screen... ie no hud and yellowed out everything, a GREAT help in the thick of combat. Second try actually worked. I should point out that on the first an third tries where the shutdown glitch manifested, I had to manually shutdown an startup to clear it. Total end result... the new change is horrible, badly tested, an appears unreliable. Job well done. Having to shutdown/startup with their delays is a real suicide issue. Being the Atlas on my team, I was basically only fulfilling one purpose... to feed xp to the enemy team. This was an impressive screw up, and thanks again for testing to ensure you improved the situation instead of making it exponentially worse.

I hate the changes to over-ride and shutdown / startup. It's unintuitive and buggy. Why changed something that worked well before?

I can't explain how frustrating these changes are. There's no skill involved as it appears completely random if it works or not.

WTH!?

Will it also fix the shutdown sequence no hud bug?

+1 for this bug. I haven't seen it for ages, but it looks like some old, bad, code must have slipped in with the Override changes as I'm getting it at least every 2nd game now. (Only had it happen in my Stalkers - 5M & 3F, but I have pretty much only been playing them too)
