So Today I...

Shutgunned a Raven's head off...
Knocked a Jenner out of the air with an SRM6...
And Carved a Cicada to pieces with medium lasers...
Yep, it looks like you can actually hit people now! Even with Autocannons!
I'm glad to see a promised fix has finally arrived.

With this fix, I don't even mind not having knockdowns too much, this apparently unimpressive patch is actually one of the best in recent memory.

Also, now the Raven 3L: is only pretty overpowered, instead of absurdly overpowered.

Jenners are now pretty effective Raven 3L killers, assuming the pilot can aim with srms, since dual srm4s and 4 medlas that can actually HIT an ECM raven will cripple if not kill them outright in a couple salvos.

The next match I used the trial 4SP. I hit a jumping spider full on with both SRMs. It blew up. Its easier combating light. If fighting them off is doable when they move 130kph I think I would hate to pilot my Raven 2x, and 4x with stock engines.

Exactly freaking this.
This patch has basically transformed this game into the best Mechwarrior experience I've had to date. I played MW4 for years, and we always had to deal with lag shooting.. so when this game came around, I was kind of sad to still have to do it, but I was used to it.
Suddenly, I just aim at things and shoot them, and they are hit correctly. It's awesome.

This is pretty much what everyone expected for the spider though, now imagine how useless the Flea is going to be when it comes along.

I know, but they were really fun before the fix. Now they're just the worst mech in the game. I am sad.

Several games later, pretty much decided that being able to hit lights with an autocannon was the best thing ever. Might grab myself a Cent-A or -D again, or try the Dragons. Lag always made me wary of AC reliant builds.
It might also be time to start running my Jenner-D again.

Must be doing it wrong, I have no problems with my spider with a tag laser on his arm spotting for my team's LRM mechs. It usually takes the OPFOR quite some time before they realise I'm there tagging them. Once discovered high tail back to friendly forces and play flanker for a while whilst the brawl is going on exploiting weakness in enemy armour.

They are not so useless in the hands of someone who can actually handle them. As before they where mostly useless as they couldn't hit other lights. But in the hands of someone who knows how to maneuver cleverly and how to hit lights. They are damn deadly.
That means of-course that you have to use em as it was intended, a fast hit and run mech. But if you do like before, with circle of death.. then the only one dying will be the spider..
