While i'm not on Verizon FiOS, i am on the Verizon network, which is to say they're my ISP, however what network hubs, sections, etc they actually own of the entire breadth of communication hardware out there linked together isnt quite as clear. It seems anyone going through that particular pipe is having issues. Im willing to bet the issue is not MWO specific; it only seems this way due to people not accessing any other services that run through that same network section.

That said, the fact my ping has gone from 50-60 to upwards of 240-270 (A 500% increase), that it happens at all hours of the day (Used one of my days off to test it) and it was happening before two patches ago for me, only to a lesser degree (140-170ms) suggests this is not because of 'patch traffic' or anything other than a faulty/intentionally disregarded section of the data transfer pipeline that is leased by Verizon from an entirely separate entity... If you think dealing with Verizon was bad, you've clearly never met the kind of people they have to do business with. Imagine a scumbag landlord that changes your lease after you've signed it... Yeah, that kind of entity.

They DID NOT fix the netcode. They made Cryengine fixes which were affecting packet delivery. This may sound like nitpicking, but it is an important distinction.

More netcode fixes are inbound, including the rollback.

Thanks Brian.

By the way, is there something going on with the servers right now? That whole weird "playing by myself" server not responding thing is happening over and over to me, but my connection is rock solid. Even kept a permanent ping going during the last match and saw no spike or anything else.

I get ping spikes from time to time which I never had before. My ping now jumps as high as 210-220 in some situations (like an intense brawl with lots of mechs around) from the standard 140-150. This might not seem like a big deal to some people, but I'm usually running heavy ballistics builds with gauss or AC/20s which have a ping related firing delay. Now, this firing delay changes dramatically during ping spikes and I can't hit stuff reliably, because I'm used to the 150ms ping related firing delay. And yes, my internet connection is not faulty and I'm not torrenting lewd videos while playing.

This is getting aweful! I'm at the point where I don't want to play anymore. My ping tonight was 200+ all night and I don't know if it is Verizon or not but it only seems to be affected here. It's f***ing rediculous already. To me it just seems odd that the timing of this ping increase just so happened after the Jan 15th patch. I know there are players on the other side of the world who are used to playing with 200+ pings but some of them are getting better pings then me and I'm in the north eastern US. Hell I can ping servers in CA between 90-100ms, but can't ping MWO below 200ms???? REALY???!!!??? PLEASE FIX THIS!

I keep DCing during match... about 60-80% of matches tonight. I NEVER DC... somethings up.

I am glad im not a huge stat *****, as my KDR is taking a beating.

For me in Hong Kong the ping seems to be the same and don't see much difference in the netcode which is to be expected I think. I don't notice getting hit much more either although I am finding it tough to hit properly now. I seem to pepper my targets way more than before. I even leg shots in when I am aiming above the belt.

I've just read a few interesting posts on the verizon site regarding the issue. The nod in question (as you should notice when doing a tracert) is "tinet-gw.customer.alter.net". It has been said that this may be routing point leased by a customer (PGI/IGP) from Verizon and that the routing point may be getting hammered and is not able to handle the amount of bandwidth that the customer (PGI/IGP) has purchased. Now after putting money into this game, I'd like to think that PGI/IGP would make sure that they have enough bandwidth to support their player base.

Also a Northeast USA Verizon user, pings have more than doubled since around the Spider patch. It fluctuates, but tonight has been damn near unplayable for me.

No improvement. Performance has only gone down since I first started playing last July.

It's unplayable for me right now.

Every patch seems to make things just a little bit worse each time. Most games go the other way and get more optimized, but not this one apparently.

This one deserves a bump. I've been trying to work out my ping issues since the patch day on the 15th also. I tend to believe its was not caused by the patch, however.

As stated above, tinet-gw.customer.alter.net [152.179.72.122] absolutely needs a repair or more bandwidth. The hops after it are less than ideal as well.

My ping used to run 30-35 and now it is over 200 all the time. I am also in the northeast using Verizon FIOS and I have 50/25 internet. It makes it very hard to play anything that needs to lock on quickly. It is frustrating to the point that it makes me wonder if I can play at all...

This may or may not help, but I'm pretty much certain it's a problem mainly, in not only, for people using FiOS. Yesterday and all the days I've played before then I've had as low as 13ms, and on average around 30ms. That was when I had Comcast, today I switched to FiOS, and my ping is now usually around 200ms, and everything has a good second delay, which is very frustrating.

I played a few games of Counter Strike: GO and had no lag issues at all with around 50ms. I haven't tested other multiplayer games as of yet.
