Ok so I am not new.. exactly but I suddenly feel like it. Been gone for about 3-4 months w/o internet and just got back on. Really confused with all the new icons and getting shot by mechs I cannot target or half see. Stack that with all theses heavies outunning my founders jenner and I am totally lost, someone feel like giving me a crash course on what feels like a totally different game?

Only been here a short while, so I can't be of much help.. but, ECM is in game now, and anyone in the bubble cannot be targetted until you bring in your own ECM mechs. Guys in that bubble (that you see but can't target) are sniping you. Don't need target lock for that, just need LOS.

Not sure about anything else, I don't know what you're having trouble with "icon" wise.

Welcome back! I started playing the game right about the time you left.

The single biggest change has been the implementation of ECM.

You should read the following:
http://mwomercs.com/...dian-ecm-suite/

That provides the explanation as to why you were unable to target certain mechs. They either had ECM or were under an ECM umbrella. Since the implementation of ECM, the Jenner has fallen from the spotlight. Popular opinion says that the Raven and Commando are the best light mechs, but I still love my Jenner even though I don't pilot it as much anymore.

SSRM's are different now. They now hit 100% of time provided they don't hit something else before they hit you. However, you will often be unable to fire those SSRM's in your founder's Jenner due to the effects of ECM.

You missed when LRM's got buffed, and then OMG! Lrm's are OP! and then they got nerfed, and then OMG! You Nerfed Lrms! and then they got buffed a little bit back up. That was a time when AMS was absolutely necessary and anything lighter than a heavy would have to cower in a hole until the LRM rain stopped. Yeah, you didn't miss much.

Repair and Rearm costs are no more.

Lots of other changes have been made, but I can't think of any other big ones at the moment.
Anyone else?

EDIT: Spelling. Added R&R comment.

Ah.. I believe the "eyeball" over the mechs means they can't be seen from the ECM bubble. The crosshairs in a box means they've been hit with a TAG and you can target them even if they are in an ECM bubble. Then, of course, you have ECM next to a name, that tells you which mech is providing your ECM cover. Or so that's what I suspect from what I've seen.

Eyeball: Mech is cloaked with ecm

Low bars symbol: Mech is being jammed with ecm

ECM with an X through it: Mech's ecm is being countered.

Crosshair: Mech is being tagged

Theirs a symbol for Narc beacons but nobody uses those so you don't need to know, plus I can't remember what it looks like...

The NARC symbol looks like a cell phone signal icon. A dot at the bottom, with curved bars going to the top.

EDIT: spelling
