MEQUEST: A MWO META GAME
brought to by Thomas Covenant

Get seven of your friends together because its time to play Mequest!

WARNING:
This game is an experiment. I am looking for play testers. That said, unexpected rule changes may come up. This is to keep things fair, on track, and interesting. This game will last two weeks. (Since when does anything fun or worth doing not come with a warning lable huh?)

Each team of 8 will get a dropship.
A dropship can travel 6 hexagons a day.

To begin, players designate their starting location on the rim of the map. Next they will designate their first destination...

Venture into the Periphery:
You're ship must be in the yellow sphere around a planet to interact. Upon arriving at your first planet you will have some options:

Capture an npc or team controlled planet.
Defend your planet(s) and reap the unique benefits.
Do missions for npcs.

You can go to a team controlled planet and challenge them for it. If they do not respond in 24 hours it's yours. If they accept you will make a drop in MWO and 8 v 8 fight for it. The winner will report back the resault.
You can go to an npc planet to take it over with a 50/50 success rate.
This game will last two weeks. This is a sandbox with no victory conditions. Just choices.

The game starts when three teams sign up. Up to five teams can play!

Gambling and Resource Management.

Your team can only fight when your dropship is over a planet.
When you choose to leave a planet, if you control it, you may choose to leave behind (automatic) defences. You can place 3 levels of defences, at the cost of one dropship movement per level.

If another team attempts to take over while you are away:
At level 0 there is a 100% chance of take over
At level 1 there is a 50% chance to take over, and 10% chance to shoot down their dropship
2 33%, 15% to shoot down
3 25%, 20% to shoot down

Shot Down. If the anti aircraft defenses of a planet shoot down your ship you will have to flee. You will have to choose a destination not adjacent to the planet.

A planet's defenses deteriorate over successive attacks. It will recover over time. The chance to shoot down a dropship will remain constant.

Further details:

The Wolf's Dragoons: there will be a an npc team that will also try to claim the planets. They will be attracted to planets that have been held for more than 4 days. Being npc the outcome will be random 50/50 outcome. They are the random element to keep people a little off edge and keep things exiting.

The way in which you can interact in this world is very open ended. Form alliances with local governments and other players, then break them. Set up defenses on planets you control to allow you to seize more. Stay an independent mercenary team, or seize territory for the glory of your faction. No path has a silver bullet answer and everything you do tugs on the web of relations in different ways. Different groups have different and sometimes opposing agendas.

*PM if you would like to help create this game. Writing NPC quests, keeping track of dropship movement, or have suggestions, or like to collaborate in some way, help is welcome. Promotion is invited and well received.

Sign your team up below.

•State your team name.
•Choose your team's starting coordinate and your first destination for the day up to six hexagons away. You must start at the rim, touching one of the blue hexagons like C-1 or J-14 for example.
•Your first destination for the day is limited up to six hexagons away. This does not include your current location, so you could travel from C-1 to C-7, for example.
