Hi!
I tried out some possible 'Mech configurations at smurfy and changed the STD-Engines for XL-Engines in a few chassis. The thing is, that whenever I did so, the overview indicated, that the heat efficiency had raised. Is this really the case?
Does it really make my 'Mech dissipate heat faster when I just swap the STD-Engine for an XL specimen?
I don't have enough C-Bills to try that in-game ^^
Thanks for explanation!

Xl Engine = Faster Heat Dissipation?

Were you putting in the same engine size? I just tested it with the same sized engine, and no, it doesn't alter the cooling.
What you were likely seeing is that you were putting in a larger engine, and larger engines, every so increment, get additional heat sinks.

Right. Up until the 250, where every engine has 10 heatsinks, then starting with the 275 they start getting more and more internal heat sink slots.

Every engine gets per 25er rating 1 internal heatsink up to a maximum of 10.
Engines bigger than 250 get per each additional 25er rating one additional internal engine heatsink slot.
These can be equiped with the type of Heatsink you outfit your Mech with.
Regardless if its SHS or DHS they only take up 1 engine HS slot but add up to the maximum weight.
So if you had a 235er Std engine in your Mech it had 9 HS in the engine and when i.e. you changed it for a 260er XL engine it contains 10 HS and your heat efficiency has changed for the better.

Oh, yes, you're right. It was my mistake. It seems like I really put in a bigger engine, sorry there.
