I don't get why some people even need to 'test' their weapons at the start of every match. If you need to,shoot the ground.

I once had a friend shoot me. I turned around and unloaded one full volley (was trying for just my 2 large lasers but hadn't fixed weapon grouping yet). Took off 5%. The shooting stopped after that. Never did get an apology either. (Guess he didn't want to tango with an SRM Stalker after that...)

People "test" their weapons for one of two reasons: 1) they're setting up their weapon groups or 2) they're screw off. Either one is fine if you ask me, but if you graze someone, be an adult and say you're sorry.

I Tked a guy just last match.
Accidental. Got about 40 meters behind and Atlas and let loose with 6xSRM6s.
Just before I hit the button I saw a light blue, Light Mech jump in between us.
Still hit the button but it was one of those things that as I pressed the button my brain said, "Whoops".
That little bonehead cost me 150Xp and a bunch of C-Bills.

Those kind of TKs are gonna happen. I snap shot my friend's commando with an AC20 firing at the mech he was dancing around. We lol'd so hard on Teamspeak.

I support TKing of bronies ONLY if they shove their fandom in my face in a match...which they usually cannot resist, so go right ahead folks!

I don't always TK. But when I do, I prefer bronies :P

PGI has stated they are monitoring TK logs for possible bans, so you might want to reconsider revenge kills, no matter who shot first.

The worst TK incident I've ever seen was one I was a part of. I was dropping with a relatively new partner on comms, and he accidentally backshot an Atlas at the start of a match. He said sorry.

Anyway, he and I were both in Catapults. About 10 seconds later, I take a Gauss shot from behind. I turn around in time to see the Atlas take a second one that hits me in the torso. Then he types, "sorry."

So I did the only gentlemanly thing possible and replied with, "no problem," followed up with two 6xSRM-6 salvos to his back as he walked by.

The Atlas driver, missing both side torsos and arms, was not happy and let loose a ton of cursing at me in chat. And then his friends started attacking me. Turns out he was in a 4-man.

Long story short, I ended the match with -750XP and a lot of people very angry at me on both teams (I killed the whole premade and one friendly Hunchback in a case of mistaken identity - I'm actually really sorry about that 5th one, he got really upset).

I'm not sorry about the other 4 though.

In my experience these "confessions of a team killing greifer" never end well, unless you are look for a 7 day vacation. These posts also tend to serve the same purpose as a name and shame thread, in that they encourage others to mount a proactive defense because you have announced to the world you are a Team Killer on a public forum.

While I'd rather that not happen, I'm still tired of other teammates greifing me or other teammates, whether it results in a TK or not. Don't be a jerk and shoot your teammates in the back, and they won't turn on you and shoot you in the face. And if its an accident, there's no harm in saying so. Most people will let it go.

Now now, no need to TK bronies and risk the banhammer on yourself, guys...

... just turn your attention somewhere else when he finds himself surrounded and ganged when he chases off, or convinently turn off the ECM when LRMs fall on him. *whistles*

I TK'd my buddy accidentally on frozencity (Whiteout one). Was runnging thermal since the blizzard and fell in the crevice next to the bridge going up to the cave from the bottom side of the map. All the brawlings go around ,and my AC/20pult was turning around to fire at an atlas and all of a sudden a big blob of white filled my screen so I fired thinking another enemy mech just ran into me , well it was my buddies raven that fell off the same ledge right in front of me and I vaporized him in the blast. We laughted about and I soaked up the cred/xp penality. I joked ""I guess the lag doesn't work for your mechs".

Ok so a little off topic but I've been wondering about this.....the whole brony thing...I followed links, read posts etc....its a put on right? I'm not trying to be dense and I don't care if a guy likes a (typically) 'girls' cartoon.....but the whole thing has the feel of an ironic joke gone too far. I thought I'd joined into the forums late and caught the tail end of a joke....uh but it seems serious? I'm just curious ... I tried to explain what a brony was to some friends and all I got were blank stares...lol. Never seen the show, maybe it is awesome and I'm just not in the know... still not sure how it fits in with the BT/MW universe :P

OP your on the money. What makes me wonder is why some people can take an aggressive stance, or outright fire on you, and act confused as to why they were shot back. I tend to contribute it to a growing trend of people who bring a sort of meta-game to most online games in the form of griefing other players. It's not enough for them to garner enjoyment from the game itself, they instead feel a need to get their jollies by trying to upset someone. It's typical kinder-garden playground BS. Unlike the playground, they don't have to worry about having their teeth forcibly removed, an so presto you have today's online wannabe -bullies-.

I figure the current penalty for blasting the snot out of said personality type is completely acceptable. I'll glady pay it when someone makes it clear that their focus is not to help the team, but garner fun from it's suffering.

No, it's definitely not a put on. Bronies really go ga-ga on MLP:FiM, publicly wear pink t-shirts with ponies from the show on them, and even attend or organize conventions. It's a baffling fad, even to the show's creators.

Creepozoids, really. From what I see, they are mostly found in weird subculture offshoots of the "nerd" community. Every game, forum or online community where you'd find nerds, they'll be a few bronies somewhere.

I once had to resort to team killing. I entered a conquest match and a teammate loudly declared in team chat that we would have to kill or be killed. The moment the countdown ended he fired on me, causing all together irritating armor damage to my right arm. In an instant the entire team turned on him and whittled his cataphract into a burning mess. He spent the rest of the match telling the enemy team our grid location whilst continuously reminding us how he had made sweet love to all our mothers in one night. The coward had to die.

Yes, it's an actual thing. No, it shouldn't be in BT/MW. But we have to put up with them because it's "politically correct".

Granted, but I for one am sick an tired of retribution heaped on people that react to such griefing when the powers that be take either no measure, or neigh on inneffectual ones, that do little to nothing to alleviate the issue. I don't get the mentality behind punishing the victim in a situation should they do anything beyond sit passively an BE a victim. The logic behind that is rediculous.

Until they figure out a way to detect who fired first, asking people to remain passive in hope that the offender -might- be punished some day in the future is ludicrous. It does not help the player in the situation at all.All that said I personally don't turn my guns on a team mate for accidents, or a slight provocation for that matter. It takes some concentrated fire with clear intent. In such a situation I will not feel guilty, nor do I believe anyone should.

We had a 4 raven premade ingame on our team of 4 man premade and the first thing they said when game started was stay away from enemy cap or die. Well we end up getting down to the enemy's last mech which is hiding on the map somewhere and our 4 man decides we are gonna cap since its a waste of time to play hide and seek with the game won. Well guess what ... those 4 ravens come rushing in and start trying to blow us away telling us they warned us about trying to cap ... next time though tell those 4 ravens not to try and TK 2 assaults a heavy and a medium ... they went down faster then a $2 you know what ...

I actually had one person at the end of a match, as three of us where capping a base, end up shooting at us. It was a Cataphact that was shooting at me (cicada) and a hunchback. I ignored the first hit. Then he shot the hunchback. I call him out asking why he was shooting us. His response was to shoot me again. That was when I unloaded on the phrat in response. He didn't get the message and shot the hunchback. I shot back again, wanting to kill the jerk this time. Before that happens, the match thankfully ends. However me and hunchback now had higher repair bills.

I think TK will only be a problem for banning if its not a case of self defense.

Reminder: Discrimination against ponies or bronies is against the forum rules and ponies do not belong anywhere on this forum except for the pony unit threads and some selected threads in the jettisoned discussion sub-forum.

TKing someone because he is belonging to a certain group is not acceptable. While I see the discussion of TKing bronies as joking in this thread, if some of them see it as offensive, the other moderators would be forced to shut it down (not me, because I'm a brony, therefore directly involved and not allowed to moderate myself).

If you want to know more about being a brony, go into the jettisoned communication sub-forum and the "let there be Pony" thread and ask. We will be willing to answer any questions. Don't go there to attack, as this will also be moderated (by the other mods). Do not trust others on their opinion, shape your own!

Now get back to discussing teamkills!

I try to never shoot teammates. To the point of apologizing when I hit one during a brawl...after the comba has slowed that is. However, the other night I wached an Atlas (the only ECM mech on the PUG) open up on not 1, but 2 different mechs. The first he alpha'd to the back, blowing the poor medium to Mech heaven. The second one, a heavy survived the first strike and then proceded to with the rest of the team lay waste to said Atlas who promply d/c'd after he died. I understand shooting a teammate happens in combat. We are all moving trying to avoid catching return fire. Ok, I drive a Cent, I circle around the target. I get shot by both sides. Cool, my fault for my driving skill. However, this does not mean shoot me off the get go. At least let me attempt to help you out before you wax me.

This happens all the time people Testfiring into TMs at beginning of match or maybe this time was on purpose.

About 8 or 9 secs after match strats we were moving out ,I was in my Cicada and somone alpha strikes (had to be as they took it from fresh to off and I keep 22 points of armor there)my Left arm which in a 2B is half your weapons.I asked why and got no response.I just DC right there in there in the Middle of our side of the field.

Why do people keep doing this .Test fire weapons toward the ground and away from people, this time I think it was intentional as I was first in line in group and was moving straight no turning so he must have aimed right at me.

I get flash damage all the time in start up matches but when it takes half your weapons away WTH?

Show some Good Character Please

Edit * Why was this MOVED? It has nothing to do with Teamkilling and is just about Crap behavior of PLAYERS
