I will start by saying I am new to team speak. I know this is pretty much standard among console users, but I have never actually used it myself on the PC. I had a couple questions:
Is it normal for this to be a 3rd party service run as a separate program? Or do games usually have their own embedded?
How common are voice changers? I think I'd like using it a lot more if I could mask my actual voice (anonymity + immersion). Has anyone used these in this game before?

A lot of games do not use their own embedded voice chat. MWO's "official" voice protocol is the 3rd part program C3 (by Vivox) but people tend to use TS3.
I've never seen anyone use a voice changer, that would probably get annoying.
