By "many" I assume you mean "the ones who have been dropped on their heads too many times to realize that the Unseen are not going to make it into the game but yet still have a bizarre hard-on for every single ******* Clanner 'mech that can be crammed in balance be damned."

Which is to say, no single audience. Two outlier groups of MW video-game fans and CBT fans.

Which is to say, OP has no point and doesn't even know which forum to post in.

we currently have 14 seperate chassis with 2 more on the way. regardless of what you think about the "Clanners", the dev team is cranking out mechs at a very high speed and show no intention of stopping.

like i said there are many posts asking for unseen mechs along with countless other posts asking for other specific mechs.

it is up on the main site the clan wars are coming within the year. this means a new wave of clan mechs and clan tech are going to be coming. from what i can tell the developers also fall into that "dropped on their heads" crowd.

the OP has made a well reasoned argument based on the shear weight of the material Piranha has chosen to dive into. he suggested that they may be pushing themselves too hard. he seems to know exactly what he is saying, you on the other hand seem to only read titles or first lines of posts. <-i suppose this statement is likely going to waste.

No MW video game has ever included the full roster of TRO3025, TRO3039, TRO3050, TRO2750, and TRO3058-retcon 'mechs. Yet BT fans have always been receptive. Having a complete roster of every single design in the IS isn't a requirement to have a fun game.

I feel I should address comments expressing concern over a complete halt to the flow of new content, there are in fact still a great many mechs to be added even if they do halt the timeline, the orion, marauder, and zeus for example, should all be available by this point according to what I know of the canon (and the fact that ISN bulletins have reported new VARIANTS of the zeus being made) so even if they do halt the timeline they will still be able to deliver a steady stream of new mechs without violating the canon.
and as for the people saying I have no idea just how hard the devs work, that honestly supports my argument more than yours, I was and still am saying that programming anything and everything for the game will take time, and while I can't speak for the resources available to PGI, I do think of them as a fairly small studio, and as such I feel that keeping up with bug fixes and scheduled content releases can be a bit overwhelming.
TL;DR:new content wouldn't (or rather shouldn't) stop with a timeline pause
devs are working really hard, but the amount of time that work takes is cutting into their ability to release it and get started on the new work constantly piling up

basically everything I said in my first post minus the suggestion itself

BETA!

exactly my point, the beta presents a slew of technical issues that the dev team needs to address, and I am suggesting that they re-prioritize for the duration of the beta to ensure that there are fewer such issues demanding their attention while they try to keep up with the release of new mechs in the timeline
though I am not suggesting a total halt to the development of new mechs, though I think a slower rate of release should be expected

But BETA ends at milestones and not a date, so no matter how things get reprioritized, BETA will end at the same time. Unless, you're suggestion they drop items until after launch, but what would that actually get them except to remove the "beta" sticker?

I work for a company that develops its own software, and I get to watch them first hand since I support the hardware that runs it [the whole system is still in testing]

In my observation, writing ANY software is a lot like being "in over your head" in that you start at the bottom of the ocean. Your goal is to see the light of day and be able to breathe. You know that you only have so much time in front of you to make it to the surface, but along the way, no matter how hard you fight upwards, you're invariably drug back down from time to time by bugs, changes, adjustments, additions. . and the longer it goes on the more you fight, the harder and longer you work. Fatigue starts to set in as you're trying to move 10-16 hours a day to reach the surface, causing even more issues that need to be sorted out. Eventually they'll make it to the surface [ver 2.0, minimum]. That may be in 6 weeks, 6 months, or 6 years. Occasionally it's a little bit longer [think Duke Nuke 'Em] and entire teams die and pass their legacy on. Once in a great while, a team dies and nobody is there to pick up the code.

Now the next time you wanna give the developers a hard time over bugs, balancing issues, design decisions. . you just think about what I wrote, and realize that the reality of it is probably a thousand times worse. They're the professionals, give them some time to work

Logic comes so naturally to the human mind that its hard to picture the difficulty of constructing a logic engine - any kind of software - using a machine that only has "yes" and "no" as inputs. At least without having tried it yourself.
