Im playing one of them new spider lately and kind of got addicted to the handling. But the streak ecm light just plain own me, insta spectator room style. So i tough, would AMS help me vs them ridiculous streak? Is the range to short for the ams to help?

I think AMS is able to shoot down Streaks but no both missiles at a time.
ECM Ravens shoot at least 4 Missiles almost at once. So if youre lucky and the raven is not directly behind you, you can shoot one or two down with the AMS.

But i would not rely on it. Currently a non Streak Light < Raven 3L ;)

So i would suggest use the 1.5 tons for something else. but thats just me.

AMS will shoot at streaks, but I've never once had it actually shoot one down. I think that streaks are generally fired at too close of a range for the AMS to actually shoot them down.

I've seen it happen twice in all these months, and the range had to be really open.

LRMs seem to be back in style, so that's a good reason to do it, but for fighting off Cravens? Na …

I've noticed that AMS is able to shoot down SSRMs (1 or 2 missiles) from around 190/200 to 270m.. if you're shot under that distance, AMS doesn't have the necessary time to target and shoot them.

Afaik the AMS targeting range is 200m, so anything fired beyond that gets the AMS treatment. I would still include it in any light if only because the LRM is back in business.
