This has been announced a couple different times, but is there a link to what their roadmap is for it, and when they plan to start implementing it?

You know that Dev diary that's about about a year old? That's the sum total of all the information we have about what Community Warfare might be. Otherwise they have literally said nothing, and if you ask them to say something they'll ask you to stop asking.

They cant have CW without the "C" so let them build in the lobbies and custom drops. Hell someone will create a league if we get custom drops.

From the Ask the Devs 30 answers by Bryan:

Q: [insert question about Community Wafare]
A: Community Warfare is coming in stages over the course of 2013. The first phases will include the concepts of Factions – Player run Merc Corps, and non-player run Houses. The second phase will include the territory conquest aspects, including the ability to fight for and control border worlds within the InnerSphere. Details will be forthcoming through a variety announcements (press and forum) later in the year.

Which is just a super condensed version of the information we have in the Dev Diary.

My only concern with community warfare at the moment, and I will need help from big battletech lore people. We are soon to be entering the clan invasion time wise. Would it make sense that for example, Davion attacks Marik, Marik attacks Kurita, while Kurita is being attack by the clans? Doesn't the IS bind together at the beginning of the clan invasion or that happens later. Or we really do fight amongst each other for awhile? Unless Community Warfare will be IS vs Clans till the Fedcom civil war(or anything in between those times.)

What happens in simple terms is in the middle of attacking each other, they all get attacked. At first they think it's another house, then after losing a couple dozen worlds each, they realize that's not the case. They call a huge cease fire, agree to pool their resources (very conservatively at first) and then start fighting back. I could post more, but I don't want to spoil it for you.

Yeah, I agree. But it's still an update, even if it's lacking pesky things like details and specifics.

I know the basics of the clan invasion, they all eventually form the SLDF to fight the clans. Just wanted that part clarified in relation to the planned community warfare.

There's also been tidbits of data scattered around here, the NGNG podcats, The Mittani, and Reddit. I would guess that we will start seeing PGI lay the foundations of Community Warfare around late spring/early summer. Once they've laid a strong foundation, they can flesh it out and expand what players can do and affect in the Digital Inner Sphere.

I can't remember exactly what was said, but in NGNG #57, Garth said something to the effect that some newer content was being slowed so that it could be released as fully-finished as possible so they (hopefully) wouldn't have to touch it again. I would hazard a guess that one of the first things on that list is the Community Warfare interface(s). PGI probably doesn't want to say much about it until they have it mostly done, given how much people will hound them if they don't deliver on their statements to the letter.

From the recent Mittani Q&A with Russ:

Russ Bullock said:

We completely understand that people are very excited to get their hands on some excellent and fan favorite clan Mechs (we are, too!), however that isn’t our current focus. I think all the fans would be excited to hear that we are laser focused on an official launch, which includes loads of improvements, tweaks and optimizations to many aspects of the game as well as the implementation of Community Warfare. Clans are the next big update after that. While it’s too early to discuss the timing of all of those content updates, we hope to announce an official launch date in the near future.

Speculation:
I would estimate that that since PGI is looking towards doing an Official Launch that will go hand-in-hand with Community Warfare, that they are looking to launch sometime in November. This gives them the rest of this year to get most bugs fixed and open up the Inner Sphere for exploration and destruction. Bonus: The clan's fourth wave will be wrapping up, giving PGI a year to prepare for the brutal fifth wave. Also, they can slowly phase in clan content via skirmishes and non-critical fights over 2014.

If that speculation turns out to be correct, I would suspect that we will see the first official statement on the subject in about 4-5 weeks, with the first front-end changes coming about a month after that.
