Typical of House Liar, I mean House Laio, to use such archaic and barbaric means to surpress its own population. I'm not sure they even have JumpShips, so I doubt Davion or Marik has much to fear. No, this warcrime waiting to happen is just to keep their own poor subjects in line. Pity you dont have things like honor and pride to maintain order, but when you're last in line, and we're first, I suppose its only to be expected.

Even if we were to issue such a statement, it would be in the best interests of the Ares Convention and the Inner Sphere. Dear Cousin, peace is absolutely the prime principle we hold true in the Confederation. We were not the aggressor in 3028 or 3031. Do not presume to lecture me about rogue states, when your own St. Ives Compact is such an entity... and certainly, do not presume to lecture me about history and the interests of the Ares Convention, it was our own patron, Aleisha Liao that sought to guide the people of the Inner Sphere onto the path of peace.

Since you are trying to teach me about history, let me return the favor... In the ancient 20th century, on Earth, our (yes, I said our, you are still a capellan, even if you are a rebellious, confused and misguided one.) parent nation-state of China, after a horrific war, had a Commonality breakaway after a civil war and form the illegal state of Taiwan, Republic of China. Supported by the predecessors of the Davion and Steiner Houses, this rogue state only existed because of their support as China had the strength to crush it and reclaim it at any time it wished. See the parallels cousin?

Well, the misguided state was brought back into the fold in the 21st century after China became one of the world's leading superpowers and liberated the welcoming people of Taiwan from under the yolk of foreign influence. History will repeat itself cousin, and the Confederation will be made whole again.

If you are comparing the St. Ives Compact to the nation of Taiwan, I could not be more proud. Let's not forget cousin, that the nation of Taiwan was formed after the civil war, the aftermath of which China brutally suppressed it's own people and Taiwan became a bastion of freedom, liberty and justice. And you are leaving out one important piece of history, Taiwan willingly came back into the fold after China started to emulate the way in which Taiwan became an economic powerhouse and the people started to enjoy the same freedoms and quality of life that the Republic had. If you chose the same path for the people of the Confederation, I would willingly counsel my mother to bring St. Ives back to the Confederation.
