We've heard a little bit about the upcoming dropship mode, which will have respawns using a set of mechs in your ready list. My idea is that you could limit the drop tonnage per player. For example, if you capped their drop tonnage at 200 tons, then they could ready up 4 Hunchbacks, or 2 Atlases. This would make it so that there would be a tradeoff to taking the biggest mechs - you would have less "lives." It might also encourage use of certain mechs that players would not normally use in an effort to fill up the tonnage. For example, if the limit was at 200, you might take a Cataphract, 2 Hunchbacks and still have 30 tons left over. You might get a Spider that you would normally not pilot to fill up that tonnage.
And in the future, if there is ever a private match room or training grounds, it would be nice to be able to manually set the drop tonnage limit so that you could have specific settings for tournaments and friendly matches alike.
