I'm happy with the (F) designation, most people know what it means and it takes little initiation for those who don't to find out.

It's not the same. It's not what I paid for when I deceided to purchase the Founders Package.
A Founders Mech is 33% the C-Bill Bonus, 33% paint job, 33% prestige to me and I feel
conned out of that 33%. Just imagine your Yen Lo Wang would be called a Centurion CN9-YLW
next. How would you like that?

You missed the part where you got tons of MC at cheaper prices than it has been on sale, early access to closed, and funding a restart for the IP.

I personally feel the Founders' mechs deserve to be capable of more than they do now, given how they were valued as equal to a Hero 'mech yet have nothing to truly differentiate them from a standard chassis.
I'm however fairly unconcerned about the argument of how they are shown when targeted, but given how they have no combat-related difference I support the idea that they are targeted as such (JR7-D, HBK-4G, CPLT-C1 and AS7-D).

As for the question of their lore position, yes, the reason why Founders' 'mechs look so dull painted right now is because they are apparently Star League era old (that's like as much as five centuries?) and have been "fighting for hundreds of years". Which is in my personal opinion really cool stuff, but nontheless I have hardly used my founders' mechs relative to other models since open Beta, apart from spending my early OB days in my JR7-D.

If they are Star League era mechs, shouldn't they have Star League era tech in them? ; )

Can I like this more than once? Gotta love Kerensky humour. =)

I really don't care about the founders tag, but I'd pay real money(again) if I could just paint the freaking thing.

Umm, how about no. You were told from the start that all you would get was a unique skin and a C-bill earning bonus. It is a standard model with a unique look and a nice earning bonus, nothing more. It works nicely that way and should be left as such.

The (F) looks a lot better IMO. Putting (Founder) just clutters up the info panels and whatnot.

Okay topic says it all. I want the Founder Mechs to be again classified / designated as Founders Mechs again.

For example a Jenner JR7-D(F) is just a hero mech with a lackluster paint job without the
prestige of a Yen Lo Wang or a Jenner JR7-D(Founder).

Seems like they changed the Founder into an F word... ;)

Was it known back then that Mechs would eventually be visually customizable? I honestly don't remember one way or the other.

I'm rather disappointed that the founder's paintjob doesnt look as sharp as the hero mechs. Pgi needs to fix it. Now. Yes. Right Now.

Face it, Founders were used, abused, and put away wet, without so much as dinner and a movie. Don't wait for that call or text. It will never come. They got what they needed and moved on.

I'm so glad I found this topic. I see this as a sure sign that the game is getting better. After all, who cares what the name is if the game isn't working right? So this must be proof that the status of the game is making progress and we've dipped into the bottom of the barrel complaints.

What are you even doing on the boards? Get on the field and proove that you deserve that blingy gold emblem next to your name at the end of a match. I could care less Founders AS7-D, Atlas AS7-D(F) or just plain old Atlas AS7-D.

The ability to paint the Founders mechs is all I want. From my viewpoint if it gives PGI a little bit more cash flow (ie MC paint costs) than allowing us to paint them is good for everyone involved.

For me as I use my Founders Jenner all the time I would spend the MC to get a real good paint job for it.

Funny, I turned off my founder tag/icon in game because I don't really want to stand out for having dropped a few bucks.

@ Kurshuk
I am not a forumite (see my post count) and I spend a lot of time on the field. That is why I care about this topic. A lot of people
disconnect before they see my shiny badge that just says I am a supporter.

----

And I want as much opportunity to promote supporting the game as I can. I am the kind of person that puts stickers with political views on their cars and clothing.

When I mean bragging rights it`s in the sense of how a vintage car gives you bragging rights or just something to show of. I am not an elitist or a vain person but when I do get me something special I appreciate it if it stays special. But that is just me.

Now I as I am not a forumite I have just read all the comments here and liked those that I can aggree with or that gave me a new perspective or brought up another good point. Thank you again for your time.

Now in a another thread (in fact in several) there was the discussion about pricing. Not really wanting to go into that, but if they ever decide to lower the prices for new hero mechs I would prefer if they kept the prices for already existing hero mechs the same, making them essentially vintage cars.

Paint was assumed for other 'Mechs and I think I recall it being stated that Founders colors and pattern would be locked. Probably somewhere in the Closed Beta forums.
