During gameplay I am experiencing issues with my crosshairs sporatically jumping or skipping an inch or so every 15 to 20 seconds and I understand there is a small delay when firing using the mouse buttons but mine is a couple seconds longer than normal. I have a wireless battery operated mouse and have changed batteries (duracel) but the issues persist. Any ideas on this? I've never had lag issues (~49 ping) but could this be a possibility?

1. Hit F9 and see if the FPS drops when it happens.
2. Post Dxdiag - from the top to just past the sound card details
3. Brand/model of mouse
4. Do you have a joystick/other mouse/gamepad connected?

Some wireless mice have power saving features that shutdown after a second or three to save battery. The first thing to try would be to hook up a wired mouse and see if the problem goes away. If it does, it's the mouse. If it doesn't, you have another issue.

Also check your mousepad. I was having a similar issue with my mouse "skipping" across the screen, checked the mousepad, and saw that I had worn smooth the center of it. Picked up a new one and the issue went away.

Eh? Please clarify.
"Mine is a couple seconds longer than normal"
When I fire, there is no noticeable delay when firing, unless I am having a massive lag spike, but this is very rare. I am a euro player so high ping.
Also, this implies that you do not have this delay if firing with the keyboard (eg hitting 1).
If you notice any difference whatsoever between keyboard and mouse firing, then yes it is probably an issue with your mouse.

Usually this is attributed too Jitter, which is spike in ping may only last a second.
