Right now I am lamenting a thread I created a few days ago about dueling and I was fuming over a previous match and created a spontaneous and long winded thread that in hindsight gave absolutely no indication of what I was really trying to say. If I had of stopped and thought about it for a few minutes I could have summarised and got my idea across far better than I did. As a result I got responses I was quick to generate hostility towards because I was baffled by their combination of apathy and antipathy in which I happily returned the favour and in turn broke down from a logical standpoint.
Post event I now realise I could have avoided most of it if I had simply stopped and thought it all through first. The end result was a dissonance between what people were saying and what I was arguing back.
Feeling a little alone in this I am curious as to others own experience rushing in to create a thread without thinking about it and the backlash you experienced and what you learned from it.
(This belongs in offtopic, right?)
