So, I have been checking the website many times a day, follow every announcement, and had the first "beta profile" created almost instantly after it was available.

Then dead silence for several days... so I assume everything is hush hush and reduce my checking.

I decide to go to a concert yesterday and dont check on the website/e-mail until today, only to discover that its been almost 24 hours of new beta news (and profiling)... and everything I did in the past (system spec profile) seems to be in the trash and I totally miss the first chance to get in (because my old beta profile was completely tossed along with everyone else's)... I was now 24 hours behind.


I 100% support this endeavor and am impatiently waiting to drop $60 for the founder's package... so dont mistake my minor tangent for bagging... but in the slight chance that someone important reads this I merely wanted to point at that mechwarrior has many, LONG time fans (with some being a little fanatic). I would have simply appreciated a little bit more forewarning to the changes so that weeks of close following wouldn't lead me into a surprise attack, causing me to miss my .01% chance of getting in the action early.

I'm sure this happened to quite a few of us, myself included. Nothing you can do about it now but fill out the new beta profile and move on with your life.

I agree. I did the system profiler thing and then find out there's a questionare today. I'm not overly concerened as I have overtime next weekend so if I'm delayed I'm delayed. I've got too much work to do this week anyway.

Don't worry, Sure you will get in. I've always preferred Open Beta as that is when the games true colours usually shows, but getting in for closed is also good.

I know it happened to me, I had am on a vastly different time zone at the moment so i was asleep when it was initialized. I was almost angry with myself for sleeping

Same thing happened to me. But I agree with the other posters, chin up and heels down, we will all get in eventually.

I was only four hours behind yet I'm still staring at the big yellow button, praying for a golden ticket to omegasuperhappyfuntimeland... I mean find some bugs in the game and infuriate random people using a jenner reconfigured to be a sniper, while grinding my basic laptop into the ground, monitoring my frames per second via MSI afterburner, and keeping a notepad next to me and writing reports on every drop in performance experianced, and contributing to the most amazing game ever devised.

Okay, so both are the same for me. Eh.

Just found out today, just updated my profile, and have been playing MW since the table top games in the mid - '80's.....

I want this to be good, and I want it BAD!

P.S. - Not complaining. Patience is a virtue I've cultivated... I'm not *real* good at it, but I'm still practicing...

Well....you can wait for the games finished product like the rest of us....You've waited this long it's not like you can't wait longer.

Yup... spent the day and night with friends boating and having a bonfire, came back to see the new profiling way late. Sucks, but it happens, and just have to keep fingers crossed at this point.

I think they are aware of how hungry Battletech / Mechwarrior fans are for their game. I expect everyone to get a chance at the game before it goes live.

Number of players should be scaling up in the coming weeks. Patience!

I had everything ready within minutes of it being announced. Im not in beta. So no worries. Only a 1000, and there are way more than a 1000 players chomping at the bit to get in.

A lot of people missed the opportunity. It kind of came out of left field quickly and disappeared almost as fast.

I didn't have to worry about it because I was banned from the closed Beta. So I thought it nice that PGI make one of the bonuses for the Founders Package "Access to the Beta" on July 17th. That way, despite one's luck, you could pay for the opportunity to get in (or just wait til the game goes Gold)

My luck is funny. When given the BEST odds (1 in 2), I invariably pick the wrong one 90% of the time (to the point of statistical improbability) As odds get worse, my luck usually begins to level out to what the average is.

It makes driving in an unfamiliar areas aggravating, as I will ALWAYS take the wrong turn. The best I can do is chuckle to myself how "Oh look, I picked the wrong one AGAIN.... cool." and just keep up trying.

Is it just me or do 2 questions not save? Are you planning to buy a Founders Pack and the one about connection speed won't save no matter how many times I select them and submit. Will only give me 96% complete.

As others have already pointed out, quite a few people missed it...
Then there are those who have a very minimal chance of getting into the closed beta in the first place due to being on the other side of the friggin' planet, this is a problem not only due to their connection but also because of timezones.

What I really don't get is why people think that all this whining is going to get them anywhere, if anything it's only going to make your <1% chance even smaller. Don't fool yourself by thinking that you would have gotten in if you could just have filled out the form in time, statistically it's so unlikely to be picked, it's not even worth being upset about...

It means I don't have to worry about my yellow icon changing to any other color cause I wuzza bad wittle boy und got banned from ze beta!

But since PGI allows Founders to "buy their way" into a later stage Beta, I can at least do that. It would be funny if my banishment from closed beta extended to that beta as well, especially after the PAYMENT GOES THROUGH!

Yes, but what you're failing to take into account is that if they can ID you to ban you from Beta, they can also refuse to take your money for a Founders' Package...

Well aren't you just the best pep squad?

In the event I'm banned from the beta stage (ie, the WHOLE beta) after buying a Founder's Package, then so be it. My punishment would just force me to wait for the Gold Release. I would still get the other package perks......
