It appears that missiles, particularly SRMs, are injected into the world right in front of the mech.
Visually I see one swarm but I should see two, one from each side.

This makes it possible to charge another mech and alpha them in the face or CT which is not a IRL realistic tactic as the missiles would miss the mech due to the arm spread and positioning or at least not both hit the same location right in the center.

I have been running an CPLT-A1 SRM build lately and the thing is devastating with this tactic.

Lights die with 1 volley. Mediums with 2 voleys.
Killing stalkers is easy. Engaging two stalkers isn't hard. Atlas's have no hope.

This isn't a new issue, but SRM builds are making a solid appearance now due to the conquest game and ECM inhibited streaks.

Agree? Disagree? WAI?

They just have convergence on the arms, if that is what you are talking about.

SRM boats will always be powerful, the trade off is the extreme short range.

I don't have a problem with them. I fear them, but I just make them a priority target and keep my distance if possible.

i shoot them from my A1 and it does matter if there is something blocking the Right ear and not the left.

I have to say, after piloting a C4 for a while now that while the build is very solid, it is counterbalanced with having to keep in the perfect "sweet spot" range for it to truly be devastating.

If you're a short-range brawler or caught unawares in the fanny, you're going through the blender. Otherwise don't really see an issue since most will use XL engines and the Catapult head is as wide as goal posts.

I have a Stalker with 5 SRM-6's and 5 Medium Lasers.
No Crazy-Cat is a threat to me. };->

The trade off is not extremely short range... mgs and sl have extremely short range. Srm have the same range as ml which is 270 metres which makes them medium range weapons.

I've been having a weird issue with my Centurion. It mounts 3 SRM 6s in the left torso. Two of them seem to fire normally most of the time, but sometimes I have missiles launch from above my head in a downward arc for no apparent reason. I have them on chain fire so I'm not sure if that is a cause, I don't remember it happening when I was using them as an alpha strike.

But it causes massive targeting issues. Honestly beyond 150m, I'm not even sure they register hits properly.

Extreme short range?

Ok, true I don't really have a problem with SRM boats unless they get the jump on me.. But getting in 200 or less of a mech is not hard in this game at all. If the maps where more open and bigger yes this range would kill them but lets face it, its not hard on any of the maps to get in that range..
