Why Do So Many Quit Out Of Games?

I've noticed as I have been playing this game that a lot of players tend to just disconnect once they've been damaged/destroyed.

Why do this? Do they still get partial rewards? They shouldn't if they just quit out as soon as they die or as soon as their Raven gets legged by a lucky Gauss shot.

They have not *********.

As for dying, meh, I do it to hop into the next match. But leaving before they're dead? See above.

EDIT: WHAT?! The scientific name for balls, nuts, family jewels is censored?! Ah, nuts...

If your mech is dead you go to spectator mode. At this point you have the option of quitting and getting full rewards from the match.

If they run multiple mechs, they can quit, hop in another and launch again. I'm pretty sure they still get the end game rewards regardless.

I cant say for others, but for myself the last patch seems to have REALLY ****** up. I keep getting CTD, some weird glitch where everyone freezes in place but I can roam, cryengine 64bit memory crashes and a whole load of other problems. Going to reinstall tomorrow morning to see if that fixes it.

Hmmm... interesting. Feels kind of cheap, but it's tempting to try.

Also, is there a bonus for using trial mechs, or are there just that many new players?

Don't bother reinstalling. I'm having same issues, reinstalled, same issues.

It's server aside I'm sure of it.

Oh man, this new movement code change made it so I can hit things!
Oh, man, gold vision? No IFF, no chat, no nothing? Wonderful.
Oh, hey there, ravens, nice to see there are some lights still, most of them have already flown the coop -- get it? Gyahahaha.
Hey, you're shooting at me? What the hell? Oh, these must be enemy ravens.
****, there's four of them, two of them might be ours!
I quit the game after killing two teammates I thought were enemy ravens and just a bout dying to the other ravens.
You want to root out the people who disconnect to spite others, instead of the people who feel spited by the developers? Fix those bugs.

I've noticed larger numbers of trials than usual as well. I dunno.

If I pug for $$$, once I die I jump into my next mech to maximize my CBills earned per time spent playing. When I pug, I can usually make 1mil CBills in 45 minutes. In 2-4 man groups about 1 mil per hour. In 8 mans, with my old team, I'd be playing almost 4 hours to make 1mil, but some 8mans are like the 2-4 mans: 1mil an hour.

Yes they still get some rewards, but miss out on Assists and some other things that may happen after they disconnect such as xp from a capture win.

As stated by others before me, sometimes you just want to get to the next match, rather than sit in spectator mode for 10 minutes.

Edit : seems I misread Garth's Post on farming, you do indeed get assists and cap win bonus's, as long as you die before Disco

Funny thing about censorship, I have been conditioned to read any group of asterisks as the word "f*ck," no matter how many asterisks there are. It actually makes most things dirtier than they should be, like yours becomes "They have not f*ucks," which is kind of hilarious IMO.

On Topic: I'm pretty sure you still get the rewards if you quit after you die. I almost always stick around myself; you never know what might happen, even if it seems to be going badly.

well, i just quit out of a game just now, saw 3 L3 ravens flocking down streaking our lights. It's simply not worth trying at this point. Leave game, boot up another mech and hope for less cheese.

Once you are dead, the rewards for you are set in stone, no need to stick around.

In the face of a stomp, so basically evenings and weekends, i jump to my next match as soon as I'm dead. Otherwise i stick around. There's nothing wrong with taking off as soon as you are dead.

The more i face premade rolls, I'm starting to think it's ok to dc when you see a complete stomp. No sense contributing to sometimes stats. I'm not there yet, but damned close.

Note: I crash to desktop about 1/30 matches, so you have to factor that in what your seeing too.
also, if I'm one of the first killed I'll ditch after I'm dead as I can just grab one of my other mechs and play again, more fun than watching others play :P

I have been crashing rather hard a couple times a day sense the last patch. The first time it was in a game I did rather well and right before the end of the match.

Disconnecting while damaged is done by players trying to deny others the kill. These players are nothing more than cheaters.

Disconnecting after dead does not change the rewards for anyone involved. It's a personal choice really, I generally have no interest watching the rest of the fight if I happen to be taken out early so I usually drop out and spend time in the mechlab adjusting other mechs.

Why would I want to spectate a match of random people I dont know?

I think its stupid that I should have to stay after dying to get the full rewards, I serve no purpose in staying.

It'd be like if I clocked out at work and just waited around 10-20 extra minutes for no good reason, off the clock.

I'd like to get my paystub and leave

(can anyone confirm if I actually have to stay the full duration of the match to receive 'full' rewards?)

GOT my butt handed to me in first 3 mins of a game and died.

Hopped into another match and finished it before match 1 was over.

So waste time watching paint dry or noobs scurry around or go play again. hummmmm the choices

I made 8.55 million today and thats alot of matches and wasting 5-10 mins watching pubs isn't all that fun.

If I'm in a group I'll stay to the bitter end since I want to continue to drop with the group. But in a PUG, once you're dead the only reason to stay is to use that same mech in another drop. If you're grinding xp, that makes sense or if it's a very intense close match you want to see, but if you're only on for a limited time or simply grinding cbills, why on earth would you sit around and watch others play a game when you can play it yourself? Especially since the match is normally decided by then, and you're going to be watching some lag-shielded light run around in circles.
