I think that the person killed by friendly fire should be allowed to say that there should be no penalty for the killer if they choose. Sometimes it's just not their fault. We should have an option at the end of a match that lets us remove the penalty in those cases.

Here's my story: I had just barely escaped from an angry Atlas in my Cicada. My armor was gone, and my CT was blood red. I got back to safety, and came up behind a friendly. He turned around and bumped into me and BOOM, I go down. My teammate should not have gotten the penalty for that.

There are plenty of other cases where you get tunnel vision and walk in front of a friendly mechs shot and go down (I'm sure most light/cicada pilots can relate), and it's your fault.

To my teammate, sorry you got a TK for bumping into me, and to the enemy Atlas, yeah, you were that close to killing me.
