Strange...
...arguably it wasn't my best game. I ran into the enemy ECM bubbled team and died fast and furious. Still my team won.

Then on the end screen I was the last one in the list.
DAMAGE: 136 XP: 57 KILLS: 0 ASSISTS: 1

WIN: 0 XP

What's that? I mean come on I know I sucked in this game but 0 XP? WTF!?

Has anybody else had this happen?

LOL I'd prefer intelligence over patience.

People used to suicide all the time at the start of a game, do little damage/xp and made some nice bonus's.
what your seeing is the fix for this.

If you could see my stats you would already know that. And a patient man can kill an intelligent one all day long.

Ignore Zolaz. He's not worth the time. I played a round with him earlier where his first words were "Let me guess, most of you will be useless and should be playing Hello Kitty Online instead." then proceeded to die right away after causing a whopping 30 damage to the enemy. After that he stuck around to tell the team how horrible they all were at the game up to the point when we won the game. He mentioned my build was bad and I sucked at aiming. Ended the game with two kills and multiple assists. Granted I wasn't on the ball with aiming through the whole match but I managed to bullseye a Commando with my PPC and finish him off.

Yes, he's such a glorious fighter and everyone should listen to his wisdom. Then maybe everyone would be able to play as horribly as he.

how many seconds was past since the match started when you died?
and are you sure that you were killed by enemy and not yourself?

Here ...let me help you. You see the entire team ran off while 3 people came around the side and I held them off while you were doing whatever you were doing. So, your welcome and perhaps you shouldnt jump to conclusions before you open your mouth.

I was scouting and extended too far - went round the corner to meet the whole enemy team :P
So it was maybe 1 or 2 min into the game. No suicide though (altough you could call it a technical suicide :) ).
Maybe I should try to get out of bounds after killing some mechs and see if it also drains my win XP to zero.

Why did you leave your team? Please don't say that the entire team was wrong and only you were right. Sometimes being smart is realizing that noobs will be noobs and sticking with them regardless of what they do.

It is either a bug or anti-farming code kicking in. I have had it happen in one match a few patches ago when I died particularly quickly. I have also heard that this can be caused by a bug in which you are associated with the "UnknownUser" issue .. in which you end up earning zero XP since your performance isn't associated with your character.

I can only guess that Cybermech is right, this could be some tweaking to reduce disconnect issues. Actually... since the patch I basically experience NO disconnects anymore. Only the occasional AFK. Before the patch I had an average of at least one disconnect per game... sometimes none, but in some games two or three. I once even had 4 (FOUR !) disconnects in a single game... all during startup. So if it IS a fix for disconnects, I dare say it works.

As for some of the comments you get on these forums: well, that actually the same in any forum. They are able to filter out spambots. But there is still no reliable way to filter out silly people who only want to brag or make useless comments :)
Best response in those cases is no response. Don't feed the troll.

You engaged 3 mechs alone, without the support of your team? what were you thinking?

I guess your patience didn't help you there.

as far as squirrel's issue goes, that definitely sounds like the anti-farming system biting you in the butt. I suggest you try to be a little more careful scouting, though it's always a risk, scouting alone.

Sadly, though, we had people just rushing into the enemy forces to get the match over with ASAP so they could move onto the next, and so farm matches that way - this was countered by making a death inside a set time count for nothing, I think (it used to be stupid - we had 4 or more suicide in one match at one point).

It does sound like you, sadly, beat that time limit... you do need to be careful when scouting or you can fall foul of the system (not least, don't stand and fight, but run through or dodge into cover if you have the speed).

Sorry to say, it's better that one unfortunate gets screwed once in a while than we see the farming come back.

you're not even worth gutting, to turn you into haggis or andouillette....Learn to show some respect to other players...you're not even worth calling a troll as this would still be giving you some "importance"...

I believe both overheat and out of bounds deaths cause you to lose the base XP.

I often don't even look at the totals, since individual match money isn't a priority to me and if I'm playing a fully-leveled mech, but I did notice one game, when R-n-R was still in effect, where I died normally and didn't receive the base C-bills for my team winning. Was rather painful, as I was playing a LRM boat with Arti and was pretty broke at the time (I never exploited the welfare missiles besides a few matches on the last night of R-n-R). I actually lost something like 120k CB for playing that match.
