You can do that with Streaks. LRM 10's just make that build too easy for other scouts to run with and laugh the whole way

I just saw a Jenner. With a lrm 10. Only weapon on it.

Suffice to say the 2 ecm ravens on my team eat it up after the rest of their team died.

I've seen alot of light mech pilots pick up long range weapons now that they can't brawl. Then again I saw another commando drop it's laser for just 3 ssrm's and more armour. People are adapting to the netcode fix in their own ways.

Once, I played a few rounds with an LRM 20, 2 tons of ammo, and a tag all crammed into a commando. If I remember right I only had a ton or two left over for armor.

The sad thing is, I still managed to do better (in terms of damage and assists) than some of the other randoms I was playing with.

The even sadder thing is that I won a few matches.

Oh, and I also scared/surprised an LRM-boating enemy awesome at one point by sneaking up next to him and volleying lrms in the same direction he was. There was this wonderful moment when he turned to look at me and just stopped, apparently too confused by my commando-ness to shoot me. And then I ran away into the night, laughing as his inaccurate spray of lasers almost killed me.

Loving the 4xML Death's Knell atm - stick a 129kph motor in it and it's brilliant for spotting and flanking.

My commando used to run

LRM10 (x2 tons of ammo)
x2 SSRM2 (1 ton of ammo)
Med laser

Then ecm came out so I had to back it down to a

LRM10 (1 ton of ammo)
x2 SSRM2 (1 ton of ammo)
Sm laser

It's Legit

Before ECM I was playing with a Raven that had a LL, AC2 and a LRM5 for ultimate speedy sniping power. It was actually kind of fun and would do decently... except if another light mech showed up.

Saw something similar the last game.

Raven with lrm 10, tag and 2 med lasers - he was standing on a hill 200m from battle and firing on random guys. When some assault alpha'ed him down, I'm somewhat sure he was already on the forums and bitching about assaults beeing uber and lights beeing useless.

I spent some time running LRMs on various Ravens and Commandos while leveling them up. Some are just too crappy to bother playing scout with. I just hung out in a support position. Quite frankly, it's more useful than the guys that take an Atlas with 1 LRM launcher, an AC20 and MLs and sits behind a hill firing indirect at 950m. I've even done it with my 3L when I felt like running team support ECM. Particularly amusing when you put an LRM20 in the NARC spot. Not super useful, but I figure the constant missile warning will freak some people out a bit. For the record, you can switch targets while firing the stream of LRMs and, when you get the new lock on, the new missiles coming out will track that target instead.

That must look hilarious. I might try it out.

I have this unfortunate tendency to level up mechs that are cannon fodder for the FOTM - jenners vs ecm ravens, then catapults vs ecm anything, and soon I'm going to be levelling ravens with netcode semi fixed.

The "Azman Special" is an extremely rare Commando variant based primarily on the LRM weapons platform.

First fielded in late 3049 by "Nor Azman" of the DCMS, it is widely reputed as a suicidal build, though it's eccentric pilot has proven to be a dangerous foe when piloting his favored mech.

The artemis patch I ran a 2xLRM 5 and 4xSL Jenner for a night. Did get a couple multi-kill games from it, but think that more due to LRMs being so borked.

I think there are 2 reasons why people do this sort of thing:

1. Experienced players that get bored with standard loadouts and want to try something weird.

2. New players that either don't know any better, or take LRMs because they are uncomfortable brawling.
