I've noticed armour is weaker and my mech gets popped more easily, its less tanky.

I remember ages there was a patch that did the same thing.

But yeah i feel like i have heaps less tankiness, i miss being able to cop a little bit of damage, my armour feels like aluminium :P

Anyone else ?

Armor looks and feels like it's taking the right amount of damage. The bug you referenced was killing people before they had lost armor, and I believe it was due to the null diameter of some weapons (mostly ballistics) 'slipping' through models.

The netcode changes are probably what you're experiencing. Even assaults had noticeable "lagshields". They were just experienced when those mechs decided to torso twist. It was expected that people would start taking more concentrated bits of damage than before, since more people are going to start hitting what they're actually shooting at. The last big netcode fix suffered this as well. People felt like they were dying too fast, but it's the intended rate of play finally being experienced. The devs have said they're looking into ways to balance weapons once everything is working near-perfect (i.e. when the final netcode is in place).

There is a bounding box issue that has been in the game since the beginning, but it has been identified and is being worked out as we speak. Missiles/explosive damage are sometimes doing much less damage to opponents. You can see this when you strike a mech with all shots and they take no, or minor, damage. Lasers, on the other hand, are sometimes doing too much damage to the opponent--especially when shooting them in the back. This is a problem with bounding boxes and the way weapons spread damage over components.

yes.

people keep assuming it's netcode. But it's possible them fixing something knocked something else loose. So try to pay attention to see if there's more to it.

My commando was killed in a match after being hit by a single volley of LRM. Didn't see how big the cloud was that came after me since I was turned away from it at the time, but I was first surprised that I was missile locked (had ECM with no known anti-ECM Mechs within range), and then surprised again when my Front CT that was facing a mountain became a huge black whole when the Missiles hit me from behind...while my AMS was firing away too. There was only minor damage indicated on my back armor as a result of the hit. All armor was 100% before the volley. I can understand if some of this was a result of netcode monkeying... but regardless something is seriously broken with this patch.

On a side note: Yes, I "wasted" space having ECM and AMS. I actually found the combination useful as providing defensive support to nearby allies. The AMS would activate against any missiles traveling nearby without having to be directly locked on me, allowing more missiles to be knocked out of the air before they hit allies. IMO, this was not a waste of tonnage as many people seemed to think.

hit detection was fix, I think this is why your armour feels weaker.
