The light pilot "help", that usually is an issue as that's like firing into any set melee; don't do it. As far as the rest, this is where you're wrong. If you're already firing on targets and guys drift in front of your firing line, then too bad for them. You can't magically un-fire a Gauss round or a burst of lasers. Lasers at least you can save some of the full FF by peeling up, therefore only wasting your aim and heat instead of your buddy, but ballistics - too bad dude.
I've been fully stopped, laying down cover fire pushing people back off hills and such, and had dudes wander up from behind me and then directly into my fire lane. Most times I see them but not every time. Sometimes they only eat one half of a dual AC salvo as they block just one arm. It's the blocking dude's responsibility not to get in the front of stuff like that. If I'd shown up second and started to fire downrange, then yes, that would be MY responsibility for FF,but it goes both ways. Pay attention to where you're going or risk eating FF.
Which is exactly what I said.

Moonpies will always act like moonpies. They can barely pilot the mech much less aim or hit what they are trying to hit. You have to take them into consideration while you are playing. Though I do think it would be nice if PGI implemented a C-Bill and exp penalty for firing on friendlies.

In my opinion, this is one of those things that will distinguish good mech pilots from bad ones, in the future.
For example, you have an enemy down sight, but you also have a teammate in front of you who is also firing at the same enemy, but maybe he's slightly to your right side, rather than directly in front of you. Your shoulder mounted guns are most likely fine to fire at the target, but lets say you have weapons mounted in your right arm... you probably know better, that if you fire it, it'll land directly in your lancemates back. For people who can listen to that common sense, rather than succumbing to the determination to get the killshot and alpha striking everything regardless of who is in front of you, that's the kind of person I consider to be a good teammate.
Another example is when a friendly walks into your fire. I do this by accident quite a bit and It's unavoidable most of the time, so its already forgiven. But I really appreciate seeing teammates at least TRYING to avoid firing at their teammates by moving their laser fire upwards, or off to the side as a friendly is intersecting.

I'm sure most players know of this, but it seems to me that a small portion of players do not or simply just ignore the fact that there is such a thing as friendly fire in MWO. It all starts in the first few seconds of a match starting when 1or 2 players just let off with a group of weapons and it nails a teammate in the back weakening the already minimal armor coverage. It's happened to me on more than one occasion, and I've even seen a teammate that takes the unnecessary volley retaliate by utterly destroying the teammate that hit him. I've even had my mechs life cut short because of friendlys firing through me to hit the same target. So in short please check your targets and have some discipline on the trigger. This is not COD or any other CONSOLE fps where friendly fire is rarely an issue. This is a game that is always on hardcore mode and is looking to be one of the best mechwarrior/pc game titles to date. So please check your targets becore you shoot.
This is a pug related problem I never have this issue when I run in a premade.
I pretty much just ditch the match when I pug and get broadsided at the dropzone by some *****.It's just a sample of the idiocy yet to come.
Blam! Disconnect!
P.S. Wow ***** is filtered,Even the FCC has been letting that one through for decades. if ***** is filter yet idiocy is not...weird. makes me wonder what else is filtered...

I recently got hit with a either a 2 erppcs alpha to the back or a gauss to the back in my cent while pugging. Right after the turning on of my centurion it was boom crit damage..... in the back. I just wonder who did it, but no one manned up so I cussed at whoever the pilot was little. Then I watched who had to be the culprit, a bro running a hunchback with 2 erppcs and a guass going 32kph..... who also hit a teammate with said gauss and killed him late game. You could tell it was him on the scoreboard because he had negative xp.
Ussually though people don't commit enough friendly fire for me to get mad unless my armor goes to orange or red and they don't say something like sorry.
