How can PGI make money from stock mechs and battles or a "hard core" game mode?

Please add your suggestions. Here are some of mine:
  • make a stock premium account upgrade?
  • make us grind/pay MC for STOCK piloting skills as well as our custom piloting skills?
  • make repairs take time and charge us c bills/mc to speed up repairs?
  • charge us for repair and rearm again?
  • allow us to hire/pay for "techs" to repair our mechs. techs are only familiar with certain mechs and each chassi we have has its own tech?
  • What else?
Is it profitable for them to even do this? I know there are true MechWarrior/Battletech fans out there like myself, but how many? How many people played MPBT back in the day? If these players are old and ready to burn money like me, wouldn't it be profitable?

I've only spent money on my founder mech, but PGI gives me a reason to spend money on a hard core stock mode I'm ready, as long if its reasonable of course :P

With the current heat mechanics and weapon "balance" some stock mechs are useless (basically anything with lasers bigger than ML's).

Hmmm stock mech mode eh? Yeah I can get behind this. I certainly wouldn't mind a mode where I can get away from the latest cheese builds for a few matches.

useless or not, stock battles would force everyone to be on the same "useless" playing field.

another suggestion for a hard core mode could be heat and armor values that are true to TT.

True. I´m just annoyed by boats and especially some abusive Catapult and Stalker builds. I´d like to get away from them and have a stock-mode or a game mode with restricted modification options. Like the concept of a hardpoint limitation: You can only change a weapon to another weapon with the same slots.
