So, I've been gone for about a month and a half waiting for the game to improve.

I came back, and there are a lot of improvements, new mechs, and generally it's a lot more of a solid game.

Except ECM. Wow. The difference between an ECM mech and one without ECM is like the difference between a trial mech and a customized one. At this point it seems like if you're dropping in an assault or light, you should be taking one with ECM or you're much more likely to make your team lose. (To the same degree that if you take a trial mech you're much more likely to make your team lose.)

I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but ECM is not balanced right now. Mechs that can use it are just objectively much better (in their class) than those that can't. Which is really annoying, because all the mechs I owned before I came back were assaults and lights that aren't ECM capable. And now they're basically useless. Yay.
