Ugh, that was used so often I still cringe when I read it. Pick up the first MW:DA novel, "Ghost War." If I remember correctly, each chapter opens with a quote, either from our current past, or even some sayings that developed within the Great Houses themselves.

If you want any 'Mech action outside of a ForestryMech, you'll have to wait until the last 5% of the book. I still liked it, though.

I couldn’t help but laugh my *** off when I read that in the novel. The shier audacity of the comment alone was the reason I loved Hanse so much.
