I would question the use of it cause it yields terrible dps, but the ER PPC at least has no minimum range whereas regular PPC has 90m min range...

I've used both ERPPCs and PPCs on my K2, paired with 2 medium lasers. I prefer the ERPPCs, because then I'm not stuck with just a pair of medium lasers at short range. The heat sucks, but with a full load of DHS, it's manageable.
And a hint - a larger engine can help with DHS. I ended up going from the standard 260 to a 275, just for that internal heat sink.

Once, I got the 4 fps glitch on River City, so I just backed into a corner. I had what seemed like a match-long battle with an a-hole spider. During that time, I was able to kill a Centurion and a Catapult who came to get me. Finally the little a-hole got me by jump jetting up on a tank where I couldn't shoot and peeing on me for an hour.
As much as I love AC/20s, I'm thinking of switching back to an ERPPC build so I can get more speed. Hard to give up those 20s though.

This mech is versatile and practical. Experiment.
Give it endo-steel, Double Heat sinks, plenty of armor...
Engine preferences (XL or Standard) differ greatly, though with an AC20 you are forced to stick with a Standard engine.

Never ever ever use Ferro-Fibrous without first having switched your structure to EndoSteel.
Ever.
Truth. On the OP's original loadout, using ES instead of FF gains over 1.5 tons.
The only thing you have to watch out for with ES or FF is that all of those crits required will interfere with the number of DHS you can have.

With the 280xl you're not completely crawling along, which is nice. When someone pops a ridge and you blast them, they'll hate you, and you'll be laughing. The first time someone does it and you cockpit them, you'll be laughing hysterically enough that your neighbors may question your sanity.

Realise the pulse version is probably not the optimal choice, but I like popping around a corner, pasting some damage onto an engaged mech and hauling ******* of there with my XL300 and speed tweak. Good fun.
