Ive only used the mx518 as a gaming mouse for the last ten years, B4 that it was hotas for mw4.
But i went and got my g700 today because i wanted more buttons and got tired of the cords going out on the mx.
So , i was understandably completely fckd today as i tried to play..
So , those of you that have been using them, could you kindly post how you map out keystrokes on the g700.
I want 4 fire groups, everything else is irrelevant.
also, the g10 button on mine is spotty at best, evidently a known issue.. so I have that mapped to command map..
I figure i might as well see what others are doing b4 i get used to a setup.
As of now i have it like this.
edited.. I think this will be final ... works well, just have to burn it into brain.
button one. fire group one
button two .. fire group two .
left click wheel , group 3
left click right. group 4.
g 10, command.
g9 override shutdown.<changed to team chat>
g8 full stop
g5 thermal
g7 night.. <so useless>
g4 zoom.
g6 team chat..ChANGED to target..
g11 power up <changed to ecm mode, power is f1 now.. >
click wheel ... next target.<changed to override shutdown.. >

thanks.. btw.. the feel , the smoothness of the mouse as it tracks is... well damn good.. better than the mx518 imo

I'm not using all this mouse buttons. If the match is fast, it is not so easy to find and use all available buttons.

To rearrange some buttons on the keyboard will help to use it while have the eyes on the display.

A,W,E amd D are as pre-configured.
Now I am using Q,E,R,F,Y,X, and C for other features. So only 6 buttons are used from the G700.

Are you using Logitech Gaming Software? If you are it is very strait forward... I believe the game recognizes the first 5 buttons so the standard 3 plus the G4 & G5. They are also the most accessible (imo) so for them you can just assign them the groups. The G6 through G11 can be assigned with LGS. Just assign the function you want to a key that is not used then assign that key to the mouse button...
LGS can be downloaded here http://logitech-en-a...,2,4,5/cl/us,en

Here is my G700 setup:

DPI: 1000
Put in your user.cfg: cl_sensitivity = 0.25

This will stop the mouse being too twitchy in game, whilst keeping it useable in mechlab.
Turn acceleration OFF as per any FPS.

1: LMB (WG1)
2: RMB (WG2)
3: Do nothing (I hate trying to click the wheel as it rolls around)
4: C (Center torso - handy with low sens mouse settings)
5: J (ECM Mode)
6: Q (Show names "Target Overlay")
7: B (Map)
8: Middle Button (I use this to trigger my TAG Toggle)
9: 4 (WG4)
10: 3 (WG3)
11: / (Open door flaps)
12: h (Heat vision)
13: n (Night vision - NOT useless, you can see the terrain much better in this mode than thermal)

I also use a macro to program wheel up as zoom in and wheel down as PIP zoom.
