But good, well balanced matches aren't important to the longevity of the game from what I can tell from reading a lot of the posts on these forums.

When said 'good players' are all stacking themselves on one team it does tend to discourage new players and players of average ability. Remember, not everyone thinks that an online stompy robot game is life and death, they may just want to have some fun.
Heaven forbid not that!!!!! I listened to 2 of the NGNG podcasts today at work for some stupid reason and boy did they paint a picture of just how overly serious some of you are, you make trekkies seem cool.

Yep thats it. Only good players play us nighttime, never any other time. I didn't realize all of the talent was so centralized. Well I guess we can close this discussion, problem solved.

Hopefully pugging will have a better place once community warfare, factions and all are implemented in game. Not sure the player base is big enough to be divided at this time into premade and pugs. I wish, for the moment, that they would balance teams better: for each group of 3-4 players on one side there should be another one on the other side. I guess it gets a little bit trickier to make a match maker that consider this and weight categories (and ECM while we're in dream mode).
Since we're still in beta and I can understand. Once everything is in place I won't be as forgiving though.

Do premades cause PUGs to ignore cover and get pounded by LRMs?
Do premades cause PUG teams to just spread out across the map and never focus fire?
Do premades cause PUG members to crest a ridge one by one to be cut down like a spruce?
If anyone makes a noob move then you can expect to pay for it... I guess the price is just higher when you are facing the premade boogeyman.

What you should try though is coordinating, in text, while under fire and whoops your minimap is gone due to ECM. Start to see the advantages of comms now. I don't hate premades, they are just playing the game their way, which is fine. What I'm tired off is the assumption that pugs sux. I have seen some damn good pug pilots. They are even more impressive once you think of some of their limitations. Respect people, pug life!

my apologies, I didn't particularly mean in this thread or by the OP... i just meant in general... this certainly isn't the first post on the matter although this one broaches the subject in a different way

Can't wait until 1 v 1 Solaris matches come along where I can smack down guys like this. Of course, they'll never play that mode cause they can't use their premade crutch.

Solaris 1 v 1 will probably devolve into a n00b build fest (i.e. AC20Pults, SRM6Pults, and StreakPults).
Australians and Europeans are just as bad with the premade pug stomps complete with n00b builds. The window does not seem as long though.
