Came across this video made by SqueegyMackoy - be prepared for a nostalgia bomb. When Mechwarrior 2 kicked in, the leap in music, sound, and visuals astounded me.

http://youtu.be/J7w88yQVlVY

It's well-composed with a good juxtaposition of the music and actions in each segment.

I don't know if would be the right thread. I have been listening to the books on audible app, it has actually given me a new insight into the mechs. I realize the devs want to make a circular system when it comes to the effectiveness of the game, while I have adjusted my fighting because of the books. Some of it still doesn't make sense when they describe some of the intense battles with lines like blowing their arm off with one shot of an ac/20 or everyone on the field of battle fearing even one PPC or even one Gauss cannon. I don't know I guess I am just confused about the lay out of the armor and weapons mechanic.

It is a cool video. It brings back the old debate about MW3 vs. MW4. MW3... better graphics for the most part. MW4, better actual gameplay.

However, this video is missing some MW games (I'm not including the console games):

1992: Mutliplayer Battletech: EGA

1996: Multiplayer Battletech: Solaris

2001: MPBT 3025

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any video of Multiplayer Battletech EGA (the Pre Solaris one)

I would also include this game, even though it wasn't a PC game.

1990:

I bet you could make an old machine, for a small price, capable of running MechWarrior 3.

lol no, MW 4 had worse gameplay in many ways. MW 4 is just cringeworthy even when I go back and play it it these days (even in Windows 7 64-bit). MW 3, on the other hand, isn't. MW 2 / MW 2 Mercs are the best though.

Nvidia cards are able to play Mechwarrior 3 just fine, with a few tweaks. Check mechwarrior3.org forums for a guide.

I played it last year on Windows 7 64-bit.

The last time I tried, it didn't work. I got weird colors and stuff like that. And I am pretty sure the mechwarrior3.org forums where involved in getting me there, too. :)

You gotta press keys randomly as the map is loading to prevent the bar from stopping. If the bar stops, you get weird colors.

It sounds silly but that's what I have to do.

You probably have an AMD (formerly ATI) card then.
