true, a light dont have a chance against an assault with brawl eq. The way lights are balancing the Game preventing it to become like MW4. It was a Sniper/lrm battle of the boring kind, equip your BK with 4 ER PPC stand behint a Hill, switch to 3rd Person view to have a look over your cover, then Jump and shoot at all moving Objects on the Map ....how cheese is that ?! In MWO the range fighters need Backup against Light brawling Vehicles. And have a look at the upcoming Clans, the Weaponry is lighter and more range related than the IS Stuff.

They are attempting to make every weight class have an advantage over another weight class. This comes down to firepower and manoverability. In theroy a med should be able to take a light as they should have close to the same manoverability but the extra firepower determines the win. Med vs heavy the same as with heavy vs assult. So this puts the light at a disatvantage of not haveing more firepower than any other weight class, so to complete the circle light are so manuverable over assults that they have the advantage even with less firepower.

It should still be really close, and team play and tatics making the real difference, while loadouts also playing a factor.
That being said, there is a small lag problem that can make lights even harder to hit, and knockdowns aren't back in the game yet (which will effect lights negitively the most).

Mediums are able to counter lights you say? I say outright ******** on that, I can't turn/torso twist fast enough to target the little ****** *************. Trying to kill them as they pass in front just doesnt work, even AC20 to the leg does NOTHING, I mean NOTHING. Lights are completly broken and totally out of whack. Hell the whole ******* **** dump of what people call a game is broken. It's the same as all the rest of the MW's multiplayer, it is utter garbage. Not worth the disk it's written to.

The only way to balance out a light verses heavy battle is to allow for a reverse Torso Twist so the legs center to the body not the body center to the legs.. I have suggest this on another thread. It took me a long time to figure out why fighting a light mech was soo frustrating, and its because the current torso twisting is completly unatural to a Real Life fight..
Your looking left, your upper body is moving left, and your feet are moving right and dictating what your head should do????
Your brain does not work like that, and your body does not work like that..

Like a cat falling, the body will follow the way the head is looking, not the other way around.. If it was the other way around a cat would splat every time.. You cant out run a light mech, you cant back up fast enough, and there isnt always a mountain to put your back to, and if you spin, and recenter, it will recenter you soo far out of orientaion you will spin to your death... This might be diffrent with a Joystick, but its pretty bad with a keyboard.. even with anchor turning, and and hard braking.. I know im a noob.. I dont know how to fight a light mech in an assault.. yatta yatta.. Trust me.. allow it, and things will change..
Put a "Z" recenter backwards, "C" recenter normal, put the "Q" to Zoom.. "E" to alpha strike and the fight becomes more logical..

OMG what is up with the series of month old necro posts?

this thread was started back before lag shield was fixed. back in the days when light mechs were immune to most damage.
