I unlocked all 8 basic variants but dont find the way to move on. No button, no link, no any information. Only reads "Basic variants unlocked 1/3".

You need to unlock all 8 basic perks on 3 different variants of the same mech to open up the next tier of perks.

you need to unlock 2 more basics for the same mech "type" but on different models.
assuming you unlocked one Jenner you will need to unlock the Jenner two more times with different models.

You have to buy the different variants separately...

So for example the -2K, -A1, -C4 variants of the catapult

To avoid future confusion please refer to the following.

To unlock these:

You must first have a minimum of "3" of these:

That is to say: In this example to unlock the Elite level for the Hunchbacks, you need a minimum of 3 hunchbacks completed on Basic. Then you can begin to unlock Elites. (3 Variants of the same Chassis)

To unlock Master level, you only need 3 "Elite" level mechs in the same class. (3 Elite 'Mechs of any Chassis in the same weight Class (i.e. Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault are weight classes)).

I've searched but can't find the answer, what do the Elite efficiencies do and if they increase stats then by how many % ?

Quick Ignition: Start-up Shut-down speeds up by 33%
Pinpoint: Weapon convergence speed up by 15%
Fast Fire: Weapon cool-down time (fire rate recycle) down by 5%
Speed Tweak: Mech speed up by 10%.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to run through all HBK then because my main mech 4SP (codename Notre Dame) needs that speed! Just to make sure about weapon convergence, is that the time it takes for the two sights to line up?

You don't need to work up all the Hunchbacks, just two of them besides your 4SP. And yeah...Speed Tweak is kind of ridiculous compared to most of the other efficiencies in that it's a direct replacement for between two to five tons of engine rating on average. Don't recall any other efficiency that does that, or which is considered absolutely vital for any sort of competitive player.

Don't forget also that once you unlock the elite levels that all of the bonuses for the basic skills are doubled for free. So for example the Heat Containment basic skill goes from 5% to 10% once the elite levels are unlocked

No the two sights are o=arm mounted weapons, +=torso mounted, convergence is the time it takes the weapons on said components to zero in on the distance you are firing. Less noticable with lazors, big difference with arm mounted ballistics

Yeah I meant all three of them, my mistake. Beside the speed tweak I think anchor turn is really useful to keep the sight on those light things zipping around you in upwards 150kph.

That might explain why I find ballistics a lot harder to handle, so when the sight converges to the distance it'll fire more accurately then?

Pretty much. And they all got likes but I didn't. :)

By the way, it's not that you need all of them. I just happen to 'own' all the hunchbacks. You only need three of them as they already explained. I just own them because I'm doing a tutorial series, and part of it is giving the information on each chassis for general use/strengths/weaknesses and every variant to display factory specs, how those factory specs perform out of the bay, and finally to relay advice from multiple members of the ZhiZhu Corporation who favor those 'Mechs and/or Variants on how to effectively use them.

(For example on the Hunchback 4P, some of us might give you a strategy and basic concept of a mixture medium/small pulse build with a strategy for taking out mediums, lights, and sneaking on heavies/assaults. Another would actually recommend a twin PPC, 7 small laser build for the same variant with a different combat focus that does well for him. Then there's another that does twin LL with small. Another that does pure mediums. Another who does 5 PPCs as a deadly sniper. The list goes on. Each plays a bit differently and thus would suit different players.)

Eventually I'll own -- whether permanently or temporarily -- all of the 'Mechs and their variants.

Haha sorry about that Koniving, your informative posts of course deserve a like. And good ideas about the 4P, which will most probably be my next HBK so I can get all the Elite efficiencies, which I will in the future refer to as perks since it's so much easier to type!

Koniving,
Can you provide a link to your series?

Thanks!
