Price will be the deciding factor for me.

If it's really 6000 MC, that's going to be a "no". That's almost 30 dollars for a single mech.

I love this game, but PGI needs to work on their price points a little bit. Hopefully they're getting plenty of data about pricing during this open beta.

I'd consider it for 2700 MC. That's the 3000 MC package, 2700 for the mech, and 300 for a mechbay for it.

Maybe they should consider capping the prices of hero mechs, so that the assaults are not astronomically expensive.

On a positive note, I do really like how it has a variety of hardpoints, and it looks like it should have a good variety of viable builds for it. This was my major complaint with the YLW, it was a good machine, but there were only a handful of things you could do with the chassis.

I haven't found any of the Hero mechs released up to this point worth the purchase and the "Pretty Baby" doesn't seem likely to change this.

Do we know for sure what the hardpoints are exactly?

I really like that smurf mech (the little blue commando).

I hate how greedy these P2W games are. I've sunk $120 into the game and using MC only for bays and hero mechs and a month of premium it's gone. That got me 3 mechs and 12 mechbays and a month of premium. For $80 bucks. I would spend money all the time here if the prices were lower. That's a fraction of the content for more than a finished AAA title.

That I think is the issue. The prices are unapologetically high while the software has issues. Hopefully more of the patches will help the way the latest one did. I responded to the poll in the affirmative though because if we have another good patch I'll put some more money into MWO and I'm collecting mechs.

LOL yeah...well we'll see what it looks like in game, that blown up shot looks a little goofy....but I want to see the whole thing before passing judgement.

main problem with this awesome is the same problem as the 9m. if you wanna go fast, those 375+ XL engines still weight a ton. so then you are reduced to medium lasers and srms. so then what you are is a huge hunchback, but you occupy an assault slot.

I just can't bring myself to buy an Awesome. That 400ft wide chest just seems to be a weapon fire magnet.

Also, not a huge fan of the paint job on this one.

Unfortunately, this is the way online gaming is going to go. The only way to protest is to simply not buy.

Here is some side info of the "pretty baby" origin:

'Leftenant Danielle Peterson: As a member of the
Chisholm’s Raiders, Peterson has a petite build and physi-
cal beauty that is atypical of MechWarriors and seemingly at
odds with her Awesome’s appearance. She is highly regarded
for her exceptional piloting ability, and the extraordinary
agility and performance she displays in her BattleMech
have been well documented. Seemingly uninhibited by the
Awesome’s typical lack of maneuverability, Peterson’s incred-
ible skills have made her and her Awesome (“Pretty Baby”)
famous in all the Successor States. Several Solaris VII stables
have offered her tremendous financial rewards were she to
retire and join them, but so far she has publicly maintained
that her allegiance to the Federated Suns, and she claims she
does not intend to retire until they are done with her.'

When I said I wanted an "awesome hero mech"... I think they misunderstood me... or did they?

Looks to be an even more efficient 9M. Yes, please.

(but could we tone down the prices a bit? The bang for buck ratio is isn't sitting well with me, and I'm horrible with money.)

It will have to have the Chisholm's Raiders insignia before I consider buying it.

Do you think it would be appropriate for players to send in support tickets with "best offers" of what they would pay for something? If you had 100 people doing that, I bet it would do a lot for their data gathering.

I'll second Vinson. PGI I'll give you 2500 MC for Pretty Baby, because I'm slighty interested in it -- a fast assault with a mix of energy and missile weapons.

An 8V with a commercialized 80s "mean streets" paint job you'd expect on the trunks of your favorite wrestler.

:\

I see it now... during a dusk mission

"Man I can't see a damn thing"
*enable thermal vision"
"OMG my EYES! I CAN'T SEE! I'm BLIND!"
