It's disgusting derogatory slang for spastic.

It comes from what used to be the Spastics Society a charity for people with disabilites its been renamed now. I find it in very bad taste to ridicle some of the most vulnerable people in society ...

Well, he's right in a way. There is a lack of spatial awareness. Even when I call out a grid square and ask for help I rarely see any. This morning the enemy team went through the tunnel. Half the team was still at the dropship looking over a ridge that no one was hiding behind while the other half the team was getting chewed up by all 8 of the opposition.

It's not necessarily a problem, just ignorance. I try not to get bent out of shape and just try to drag the battle over to unegaged friendlies to see if they'll get the hint once they get slammed from behind a couple times.

I don't understand?

1. What is the issue?

2. Should we make people take an entrance exam before letting them play the game to not allow people with the problem you are suggesting have?

He's complaining about players who tunnel vision in on a target.

unless people take the time to analise everything they do then spend most of their time to train and fix that its going to be a problem. not to mention its even harder because collisions are not in the game at the moment. So really, the only way people learn is by failing and because there are few downsides to running through someone people will never learn. I bet that if nockdown returned next patch, by the end of 30 days most people will have improved their spacial awareness and manuvering. I can say that personally when there was knockdown i paid much more attention to where i was and what was around me. when it comes back there will be an adjustment period for everyone

I thought that was "situational awareness"

this is not a lack of spatial awareness at all... that's a lack of recon/intel with some assumptions thrown in.

a lack of spatial awareness would be for example chasing a circling raven around a big boulder instead of waiting for it on the other side to alpha strike it with your assault mech. or trying to fight in the elevated spawn in river city and falling through the big gap on the floor by accident, even though you should know it is there.
or brawling with another mech before realizing you stepped out of bounds and soon after you explode.

btw, the OP said, "good job PGI." as if PGI were assigning players mental capacities...

(IF that's the case maybe you should ask for a buff!!! :D)
