Give us an ammo type. ARAD. Anti radiation missiles. give us LRM/SRM/SSRM ammo that CAN ONLY LOCK ON to ECM equipped units. Bamf. we get to specialize as ECM or regular hunters. done. awesome. Let us live out our wild weasel fantasies!

The Final Solution?

Sounds rather harsh.

Lol what is wrong with you. they are NOT made up. they are a standard part of military airplane loadouts that go into air defense zones and knock out radar/scouting equipment before a wave of airstrikes. ARADs seem like a classical sidegrade, cause face it most mechs dont carry ECM and they could only lock ECM radiating targets.

Learn some wiki/google fu before you go around being a fartboner.

Ironic because STREAK/LRM systems seem far more advanced than ARAD tech. Hell we've had it since the 60's. Seem even more simple than heat seekers lol

Earthsiege player, I bet.

Well, for what matters, there are different types of guided missiles in Battletech canon (namely heat-seeking, anti-radiation and radar-tracking) but, as far as I'm aware, no special rules were ever devised for the tabletop game to account for these specialized ammunitions; these mechanics would only really make sense for video game.
And PGI appears adamant on sticking to the tabletop rules for weapons, armor and equipment.

Besides ECM, that is.

Dude, we have giant stompy robots but NO REARVIEW MIRRORS. Don't talk about some stuff being more advanced than other stuff until you puzzle that one out.

ECM is pretty much balanced since you can oneshot those pesky swarms of ravens ;)
