First let me start by saying that I've been playing MWO since the first day of OB. I don't make many posts on here because these forums don't exactly show our community in the best light, what with all the crying, griping, and downright rudeness ya see on here a newcomer would think we have the worst people in the world in this game. Now I know my post is'nt going to change any of that, and I don't expect it to, but I do wanna say to any new people who read these forums before they play, Don't judge pugs by what you see on here

I've always piloted heavys in this game and finally got em all mastered,so I decided to try something new. I was tempted to go with mediums cause I like having speed and maneuverability, but then I thought maybe I should try something really different so I bought an Atlas. Now all I knew about them was that they were slow and not very maneuverable so I figured they would be a real challenge for me. So I fitted that big boy out and hit the launch button, needless to say it was a very short learning experience.....Boom..dead! So in my next drop while waiting on the countdown I typed in teamchat that I was new to assaults but would do my best to help out.

Long story short, in my next 6 matches (including that one) every pug on my team tried to help me out! Oh I got kidded a lot to be sure, cracks like "Well at least your walking in the right direction", and "Hey at least you did'nt shoot me in the back" but not one derogatory remark, every one of those guys tried to keep me alive through the match, telling me where to move to and when to hide. Those guys grouped around me and attacked anyone who even got close, I even had one guy in a Hunchback get in front of me and take rounds meant for me while telling me to back behind a building. Now were some of those guys in 4 man teams? probably so I don't know or care. The point is they were all great teammates every one! I don't know how to thank them for making those matches fun instead of the nightmare I was expecting......Except to get on here and tell all of you who are always complaining about pug matches being full of idiots and useless noobs......Maybe, just maybe if you spent more time actually playing and even talking with your fellow Mechwarriors old and new you might just come away with a whole new appreciation of our community.

Well that was certainly more than I intended to write! guess I've used up my forum time for the month lol

Solid on you. I genuinely think that the people who act like jerks are a tiny percent of the population, they just have a big effect on people. If more folks talked on chat I think the general attitude of pugging would change.

The jerks in game are merely more vocal.

It's the luck of the draw. You get the good pugs, while I seem to get the bad. The bad whom will bail on me, in place of assisting. Personally, I have given up with pugs. I've tried chat, either gets ignored, or stupid smartass comments returned. I will record my next few matches, and PM you the links, if you want, then you will see what I am talking about, and the types that those of us who have dissed, are dealing with. By no means am I referring to every single pug, there have been some I've wanted to hug and kiss.

Now, on another note, the matchmaking is incomplete. And with the next phase to be released in the near future, things are set to improve.
